This is my post for #freewriters 2379 prompt killer of flies hosted by @mariannewest

The top photo is of a bee on a wedelia flower. It is a member of the sunflower family and it is the most invasive plant on our property. It was here when we moved here and I wish I would have tried to get rid of it back then. It is trying to take over everywhere and I have a never ending job of pulling it up. It is now listed by the UF/IFAS Assessment of Non-native Plants in Florida's Natural Areas as invasive and should not be planted in any region of the state. I copied that from a quick google search I wish whoever put it here would have read that before buying it or me knowing this when we moved here.

I love the look of the carrion flower but the smell is terrible. Some say it smells like rotting flesh. It is not a killer of flies, it is an attacker of flies. I have never tried eating it but they say you can eat the tips of the flower, I have to ask why would you?

This is my Angel Trumpet plant, they say not to touch or smell it because it is a very poisonous plant, causing intense hallucinations, seizures, and even death in the most severe cases. I must be immune to it because I touch and smell it with no side effects. It is one of the prettiest plants that I have grown.

Another one of my plants is the Dragon fruit, when in bloom it is stunning and when the flowers die, I get a delicious fruit to eat, I do not care much for the white ones but the red, oh so good.

Plumeria is what they make Hawwian lies with, the plant is not much to look at until it blooms and if you could smell Heaven it would smell like this flower.

Just like the Angel Trumpet, they say the Devil's Trumpet is highly poisonous. The difference between the two is the flowers on the Angel's trumpet hang down and the flowers on the Devil's Trumpet stick up in the air, it should be the other way since Heaven is up and Hell is down, but I did not name them.
photos are mine

The thing about Angel's Trumpets ... some people are more sensitive to what makes them poisonous than others ... they don't bother me either and the city is full of them ... they bloom all year if we have a mild winter ... but sometimes, if they are in masses and the wind is still and it is warm, I can walk through a concentration of their scent and understand WHY they are considered so dangerous ...

I am surprised the city has them planted, I wish ours would do it they are so beautiful. We must have good genes.

Oh, no ... people have them in their front yards and sidewalk plots, primarily. There's only one park where I've seen them in masses.
