This is my post for # freewriters 2365 prompt not to stable hosted by @mariannewest

I have come to terms with the fact that I will not be able to trout fish this year. The first week of the season has already come and gone and it closes in September but by September the bait is too big to use. I am still waiting to have the surgery on my hand, I will see the doctor on the 16th of this month, and then he will schedule it, hopefully, it will be sometime in June. I am thinking 2 more months to heal. This might put it around the last of August before I can think about fishing, this is so disappointing.

My husband took 20 pigfish traps and set them in the river, he said he had to go further north than we usually go to set them because he could not find enough rolling grass to put them around, rolling grass is not a seagrass, it is a type of algae, but it is all the small fish have to hide in since the river is not to stable, we no longer have the seagrass we used to have, he left the traps overnight.

The next day he went to run them and ended up bringing them all back home, he said he caught 200 winkers, we do not use winkers, and he only caught 20 pigfish. We used to catch over 200 on one run of our traps and that is how many we take in a day's fishing. We would not use all of them, but it is nice to have too many rather than too few and run out. I do not know when or if he will try it again.

You would think that this would make me feel better about not being able to fish, but it doesn't, it makes me wonder if there will be bait for him to fish and if there are fish to catch.

I am thinking about your previous post, which I just read. You have plenty to worry about, and I hope you are managing to not worry about it all!

I do not think I will stop worrying until they get clean. I think every parent who goes through this worries.
