I have had an amazing life, it has not been an easy one but I have done many things that people can only dream of doing, yes, now my body is old and parts are wearing out, but you will never hear me say poor me! sometimes I might feel it but to come right out and seek pity, there is no way. Sure I gripe about how it hurts to do things, but I still do my best to do them.

I grew up at a campground on the south side of an inlet, my parents started the campground in 1952 or 53. I had an awesome childhood while living there. I practically lived in the water either swimming in the inlet or the ocean, if I wasn't swimming I was fishing.

My parents leased 15 acres of land from the County for 48 dollars a year. I lived there until I was 15, then the State took the land to make a State Park and we had to move.

When we left the inlet, Dad did not know where we were moving to, he loaded up everything we owned and towing a camper trailer behind his truck we headed north. We camped at many different places while he looked at land and he ended up buying 200 acres in Missouri. I saved up my money from working for him at the campground store and bought my own horse, her name was Sugar. That is me on the front horse. I went on many trail rides with others.

After 7 years of being away from Florida, I moved back home and 6 years after that I married my husband and became a commercial fisherman.

I started out fishing with my husband, we have now been together for 40 years, and married for 38. I have been fishing my own boat for over 30 years and even though it has been hard work, and hard on my body, and the weather has not always been good, I would not want to work any other job.
