My Mother's place is a double wide trailer with 3 original bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an addition on the back with 2 more bedrooms a bathroom and two smaller rooms that could be big closets or bedrooms and there is a single wide trailer with 2 bedrooms, one bathroom. It is connected to the north side with a hallway between the trailers.
The roof leaks on the single wide trailer, Mom's place is going to be sold and will be worth more money if we repair the roof. With the price of rent in this area, anyone would love to get their hands on a place like this.
I try to say how to fix things but it falls on deaf ears, the roof can be repaired we do not need to tear down the entire trailer and there is no need to hang up on me and not answer when I call back.
August will be three years since Mom passed and it has been two and one half years since an attorney was hired and still probate has not been filed with the court. I know it is not my corruption holding things up. The sister who hired the attorney is up to something but I can not figure out what.
Over a month ago I told her to get him on the phone, I wanted to talk to him, he will not talk with me if I call, she did not want to do it, saying it was going to cost us more money if we called him. I told her I did not care what it cost. She called him in private and said he would call the next day to talk to the 3 of us. I went back there the next day and spoke with him, he promised probate would be filled within two weeks, it is now over a month and nothing has been filed. My husband says she is up to something but I am not sure what it could be. I know she is mad because by Florida law the place will be put in all three of our names and she thinks that her and the other sister who lives there should get it all.

Do they have people there that they are collecting rent from?
They did but not now, they had two rooms rented I think for 500 each, but I am not positive about that price. I read about how probate property was to be split and nothing was to be touched until after probate was over, that went for rent money, too. They went through Mom's room and split her jewelry between them and in the rest of the house they divided up what they wanted and gave their kids things, all without me being there. I asked for a dolley, a book, and a box of handkerchiefs, I got the dolley with two flat tires.
I wish I had the money to hire my own lawyer.
Chris thinks I should be making part of the mortgage payment, I would have done it if they were not living there, it is costing me money with them there because we could have rented it for a lot more than what the payment is. I feel if I were to pay part of it I would be paying for a place for them to live.
What a bunch of horseshit! So sorry that you are having to deal with all that.
Me, too. Somehow I need to come up with the money for a probate lawyer on her Ala property so I don't get screwed over on it.
Yeah that is a good idea. What they are doing is not only unethical and wrong but it is also illegal.
Yeah, I know, that is why I wish I had my own lawyer. My damn internet keeps going in and out. I just got it back.
Maybe once we get all my stuff sorted out and I get moved we can work on getting you the money for a lawyer. That shit has been dragging on for way too long.
