This is the first year that I have not been excited to start trout fishing, I am finding it hard for me to start working on my boat, I think about it but that is as far as I get. I have a lot to do before trout season, it will start May 1st and I need to get all of my pompano gear off of my boat and turn it over to trout fishing by putting my baitwell in it and getting the pump lines hooked to it and the pump wired into the battery.

I need to work on pig fish traps, but I have been putting that off, too. They need to be mended and make sure the latches are still good and new hog rings put on the buoys and where the rope hooks to the traps.

The crab traps need to have the numbers repainted and new latches, and hog rings, then I need to catch bait to put in them, and then they can go in the river, really they should have already been there.

Once I catch the crabs, I will have crab bait to put in the pigfish traps to catch the pigfish, then I can put the pigfish traps in the river.

This is how it will go, I will rise with the sun, I actually will rise before the sun, but that is not the prompt. I will catch catfish to put in the crab traps, once I catch the crabs, I will cut them in half and put half in each pigfish trap. I will leave them overnight and run them every morning before fishing and hope they catch pigfish. Once I catch 150 pigfish I will go fishing in hopes of catching a trout. If I can not catch enough trout, I will pull everything back out of the river. That is what happened last year, am I crazy to think this year will be any better?

My son has been caretaking on someone else's land for many years but now the land is up for sale and he has to move, he purchased a piece of property but does not have the funds to get electricity, he powered down his Hive account and I let him do the same with mine but it is not enough to get an electric pole put there, he has to move by the middle of May, he started a Gofundme page if you can donate anything at all, it will help towards getting power.
