5 minute freewrite 2332 prompt season finale

This is my post for #freewriters 2332 prompt season finale hosted by @mariannewst

There is a little gopher turtle that insists on living under our trailer, we keep putting him/her on the other side of the fence but it keeps finding its way back into the yard. I am afraid the dogs will kill it, I do not want to do this but if I find him again I will need to take him somewhere else, maybe out on the preserve in hopes he will like it better there.

I thought winter was over, we have had weeks of 80 and 90 degrees, but last night we had what I hope was our season finale of cold fronts. It was 90 degrees yesterday and 51 this morning. It has warmed back up this afternoon in the 80s, which is good for me, but my husband likes the 50s.

In the 1980s and some of the 90s, we were good friends with another couple but have not seen them in well over 30 years. Today the guy came by to buy some areca palms from us, it was like no time had gone by, we sat and talked for 5 hours and when he left I felt like we could have talked all night. They just live 2 towns from me and I do not remember why we did not keep in touch, other than likes or a short comment on social media, but I am going to make a point of trying to see them because I really enjoyed our visit and would like to visit with his wife, too, she was working and could not come.

If you have an old friend that you no longer see, I would say make the effort to see them, you will not regret it, all of the old memories come back and now you have the chance to make new memories. I am looking forward to more visits.
