5 minute freewrite 2323 prompt scrape the bone

This is my post for #freewriters 2323 prompt scrape the bone hosted by @mariannewest.

The above photo is of artwork that one of my sons made for me, it is a skull and backbone from a catfish, there was no need to scrape the bone the sun and little creatures that live along the shoreline have done their job by cleaning the bones.

Anytime I find bones that have already been cleaned by nature, I pick them up. I do not know what this one is from but it is unique.

This one is a fossil from an alligator's jawbone.

One of my favorite things to do is go to one of our islands and hunt for fossils, the only time I can do this is when I have my bait traps in the river and I have to wait for the bait to get in them, in my area, this is the best island to find fossils.

A fossil in the water is easy to spot. Nothing grows on the bones and of course, there is no need to scrape the bone they are clean but everything else has a green slim covering them. I have never understood why this is.
