This is my post for #freewriters 2316 prompt miserable looking kitten hosted by @mariannewest

My husband has always been a dog man, he never wanted cats but one of our kids brought home a white cat he named Alabaster and she had kittens. I forget how many she had, but there was one white one that our oldest daughter took, as it grew older its tail had streaks of orange. She had him for 16 years. There was an orange one that we kept and we kept the runt. Later in years, the orange one disappeared, I am not sure what happened to him but I like to think a little girl saw him and took him home where he lived a spoiled life.

We tried to give the runt away but no one wanted her, they said she was a miserable looking kitten, I saw more to her than looks. She proved me right and grew into a pretty kitty and smart to top it off.

The years went by and we had another cat that chose us plus 2 dogs but this cat's best buddy was a chicken called BEB, for Beedy eyed Bitch. They hung together in the yard and when Littleone was inside BEB would stand at the front door wanting in or for Littleone to come outside.

My husband with his soft spot for Littleone and Beedy being best buds would let Beedy inside the house and since Littleone had a box she liked to sit in, he thought Beedy would like to have her box and she liked it, too. I was all for this as long as Beedy stayed in her box, which she did.

One day I looked in the backyard and saw a miserable looking kitten and then another one showed up, I ran inside to have my husband come look at them. He said he was sure they were not cats but thought they might be baby foxes or coyotes, he was not sure which they were. I had never seen a baby fox or coyote. Now I wonder if that is why our orange cat disappeared.
