This is my post for #freewriters 2313 prompt what's in the bag hosted by @mariannewest

I have been thinking about when it is my time to leave this world my kids are going to have a mess trying to go through all of my boxes of crap, so I have been going through the boxes that have been stacked in our closet since we moved here 20 plus years ago. The only problem is most are filled with memories from the last 40 years and more.

I have saved every greeting card that anyone has ever given me and could not bring myself to throw them out. So all I can do with them is put them in a different box and place them in a different room. Out of sight, out of mind is the motto I am going with. I did throw away all of the logbooks from our ocean fishing, I see no reason to keep them, but the cards are not ready for the trash maybe another day but not today.

I do not know what to do with something like this, I do not know where I got them from. They are called living letters, they are small reel to reel tapes with I am guessing someone talking to a loved one. I do not have anything to play them on. It would be nice if I could find the rightful owner. I thought about posting on FB but how people are nowadays, they could say they know the person just to have them. @deeanndmathews there is a San Francisco address wouldn't it be great if you know who belongs to these? I know that is a long shot but stranger things have happened.

I found a leather alligator bag but had no clue as to what's in the bag, when I opened it I was pleased to find a bunch of pictures, one of the pictures was of a story that my Mom had told me. She said in the early 1960s when they were dredging the inlet they had a barge with a pickup truck sitting on it. She said when they set off the dynamite the barge was too close and the truck went flying in the air and landed in the water. She always had a lot of excitement in her voice as she was telling me the story, it made an impression on her.

I know this is a picture of what she was talking about because this is her handwriting and there was only one truck that went into the inlet. I am glad she wrote on it because I would not have known what it was. I was so happy to see this picture, I wish she was here to show it to her.

photos are mine
