5 minute freewrite 2240 prompt safe place

This is my post for @freewriters 2240 prompt safe place hosted by @mariannewest and @daily.prompt

I did not want to name this guy until I knew if he/she would make it, but I found myself calling him/her Rudy/Ruby. Last night all I had to give it to eat was water because I found out that cow's milk can kill them.

I stuck a piece of grass in his mouth and he did make the chewing motions but I could not see where he ate any of it. When I put him back in his pen I placed a small piece of bach choy next to his mouth. Later when I looked at him the bach choy was moved and mostly eaten, so he can eat.

We found out that Walmart has kitten milk so when I woke this morning I gave him a little water, then went to Walmart. Like always when I go to Walmart for a particular item, they were out of it, but they did have goat's milk. They had it in bags that were powdered and they had it in cans, I bought a can of it, that would be plenty. I poured an ice cube tray full of it and put it in the freezer and still have a lot left in the can. This way if needed, I can thaw one cube at a time and have the rest in the freezer in case I ever have to do this again. Once frozen I will put it in zip lock bags.

I put 1/2 teaspoon of the goat's milk in the little vaping bottle, of course, Walmart did not have any eye droppers, they had little baby bottles for kittens but I was afraid he would bite a chunk out of the nipple. I put the first drop of goat's milk in his mouth and I could see the pleasure on his little face. He drank 3/4's of it and closed his eyes, laying in his safe place on my lap.

I sat there looking at him and remembering how it felt when you fed a baby and did not want to move when they fell asleep, all I wanted to do was sit here and watch him sleep.
