5 minute freewrite 2223 prompt abnormal duck

This is my post for #freewriters 2223 prompt abnormal duck hosted by @mariannewest and @daily.prompt

A few months ago my husband looked out the window and saw 2 ducks in our front yard. We have never seen ducks here before but it would not surprise me if more showed up after all of the rain we have gotten in the last two days. The picture was taken through the window screen.

First, the weatherman said it would go up the east coast, then he said it would not go up the east coast but the west coast would get the rain. Guess what happened? The rain came up the east coast. It was like a little tropical storm but not only did they not know where it was going, they did not name it.

We stopped at the Habitat for Humanity store and saw these three ducks by the front door. The drake looks like an abnormal duck his feathers look shiny on his back near his tail. We had been to the cheap store so I got some bread from the truck to feed them. they were happy ducks.

I was at the beach getting sandfleas and saw this bird in the surf, the waves were crashing over it and it kept trying to fly and couldn't. I am not sure what kind of bird it is, it might be some sort of abnormal duck. I could not bear to watch it struggle in the waves so I waded out and with my sandflea rake I dragged it onto the beach. This is when I saw its crawl was so full that it was keeping it from flying. It ate too much. I put it high enough on the beach so high tide would not wash it back out.
