This is my post for #freewriters 2194 prompt pure fun hosted by @mariannewest and @daily.prompt

I feel like my days of pure fun are gone. I really enjoyed taking my kids camping every year and when they grew up and had kids of their own I really enjoyed taking the grandkids camping.

The grandkids did not understand that there was no electricity, TV, or internet, to them there was nothing to do, they had never experienced playing outside or using their imaginations to have fun.

Some even wanted to go home after the first night but I was not having it, they were going to have fun, and I would make sure of it.

All it took to turn her frown into a toothless smile was for me to catch a seahorse for her to play with. I told her not to keep it out of the water for long and after she was done playing she had to release it which she did without any problem.

The one in the white shirt found the thrill of fishing when a shark hit the trout that he was reeling in.

The hammock turned out to be a big hit with them.

The kayaks were another big hit.

Even the littlest one found pure fun in a bucket of water.

One thing that I knew I had to have to keep them happy was to have plenty of food and drinks.

No one wants a cranky kid on an island because they are hungry.

A friend stopped by and gave me a few stone crab claws for them to eat.

With all of the things I did to make sure that they had fun, nothing brought out the excitement in them as an approaching thunderstorm did. They started running all around, hooping and hollering about how it was going to storm and they were on an island. They were so happy, I said they could play in the rain as long as there was no lightning but they had to go to their tents or stay under the canopy with me if we heard thunder, which is what they did. Yes, those days were pure fun.
