Look how young we were. This year will be 38 years since we were married. we have been together for 40. My husband started his company before we married, it is a corporation, and had an accountant to do his taxes. The accountant said HOLD-ON she has 4 children and you guys are not married!!
He said I can do this, this year but I have been sent a letter and it says next year I can no longer do it. I can make her secretary of your company, he said I would make all the money, and then with the kids, I would not be heavily taxed, but by next year, I want you two married.
I do not know why it bothers me to have never been asked if I would marry him, but it has always bothered me and I keep hoping that one day he would ask, but I gave up holding my breath over it.
I told my youngest sister we were getting married by the end of the year and her boyfriend proposed to her and they asked if they could also get married with us. Then the middle sister said her and her boyfriend were getting married and asked if they could join us. We waited until December before marrying.
I am the last wife to stay married, the other 2 divorced within 5 years. I find it funny because I am the one who was never asked if I wanted to get married, no proposal, I was told this is what is going to happen and we are the only ones that have lasted.

That is quite odd. Maybe the practicallity of your marriage is a big part of what kept it together?
We both had been married before and said we did not want to get married again, but when it came to saving a few thousand dollars, it would have been dumb to not marry. The kids have been grown and out of the house for the last 25 or so years, and we still stayed together without the tax exceptions. There is love there, too.
I doubt many use their accountant to arrange their marriages. Have you uncovered the hidden secret to restoring sanity in our society? Matchmaker accountants?
