My Christmas ๐Card Collection
Welcome to my blog
Hello #HiveCollectors community, receive a warm greeting. This is my first post in this community. Yesterday I saw this initiative and I was excited to participate because I own a lot. Although many of them are not mine, but I have had them for many years because they were going to throw them away and since I like to collect objects all my life, then here I am with the group of them. Each card has its own story.
They exist since the year 1978, 82, 83, 85, 86, 88, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 2006, 2014, 2022.
The boom in the use of Christmas cards in my house began in 1978. All the friends would give one, sometimes a gift.
Also, from 1982 to 1988, the secret Santa or card exchanges were given and exchanged in educational institutions, my sister was a teacher, and she promoted this activity in the classrooms. Many students gave her gifts as a token of appreciation. Neighbors, co-workers, and company managers gave gifts to their employees.
Lovers at that time also used these cards as a manifestation of love.
The 92-year-old, a co-worker, had a separate butcher shop, and for that year he had this type of card made with a calendar and an image of the Bridge Over Lake Maracaibo. And he gifted us all at work.
At that time they were selling cards made by people with disabilities and the money raised was for a foundation, I bought two, but one is inside a book and I didn't have time to look for it.
There was abundance, no one could shy away from that expense. All the stores had a full shelf, and you would spend several minutes deciding on the purchase, you would check it until you decided on one or several.
Since 2006 the musicals came out, my daughter gave me several from there.
And in 2022 my daughter learning to make pop-up style cards made one and gave it to me.
By 1994 I started buying Christmas magazines and there they gave away small cards, I put them on cardboard with glitter, and they were used for gifts, and these stuck.
As the scarcity was pronounced, the cards in the establishments were even mistreated, so this way ended, now with technology the cards are available online, I have not seen the cards in the stores anymore.
Now on YouTube they explain how to make them and the artisans make them for a living, with tutorials and on request they can make it in a personalized way. This has become a form of online commerce, a new form of an artisanal economy, and with the use of printers, they are designed and printed with more personalized data and digital images.
We have nothing left to do but safeguard these memories, until the material melts away on its own.
Well my #Hive-Collectors friends have a nice day!

Very nice your collection of postcards, you have a lot of them. And I'm sure each one has its meaning for you. I have some of them saved but I doubt they will be enough to become a collection. Although now everything or almost everything is online, the Christmas message will reach you. Merry Christmas. โ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ๐๐
