Images of the Divina Pastora

All those years, very early in the morning, I would go to the newsstand. Especially on Sundays I would buy several national, regional and local newspapers. Then, for this date, Impulso, a regional newspaper, dedicated a special to the Divina Pastora, and it coincided with the beginning of the new year and the birthday of the newspaper, so they designed an almanac with the image of the Virgin. Every year they made a different design, and that captivated me and together with my husband we would go in the car to buy it, consecutively, if the car was not working for some reason I would walk, it served me as an exercise and I managed to buy the newspaper with the almanac, I had to go very early because there were few quantities. Sometimes I would run out in one place, then I had to go to another kiosk, I almost always managed to do it, it would only happen once that I ran out of the issue.

Then the situation of the country began to get complicated and entered a phase where the paper began to be scarce and the written press, especially El Impulso, was presented with this inconvenience and by 2016, they did not print the image on glossy paper but on common paper where they printed the news. For the following year there was not, up to the present time, the larense newspaper is visualized by digital portal.

Other newspapers such as La Prensa de Lara and El Caroreño also joined this initiative, and by 2017 and 2020 they still had paper.

I have never attended this march, my mother, and sisters had two opportunities to walk a part of it. Even so, I am devoted to it.

I have always watched the march on TV. Some channels move to the city of Barquisimeto and the own ones broadcast it all day long.
