Greetings, dear #NeedleWorkMonday community. Today I present a story that refers to a visit I made on Friday to an exhibition of sewing, knitting and cooking. My friend and comadre Maria made an invitation via WhatsApp, so I contacted her and agreed to go that day. I found it interesting to attend and socialize with several participants because I had several years without talking to them, they were coworkers, who are now looking for shelter in the manual arts, what better than sewing, specializing in intimate apparel to undertake and entertain themselves.

Saludos, querida comunidad #NeedleWorkMonday. Hoy les presento una historia que se refiere a una visita que hice el día viernes a una exposición de costura, tejido y cocina. Mi amiga y comadre María hizo una invitación por WhatsApp, entonces me comunico con ella y quedo ir ese día. Me pareció interesante asistir y socializar con varias participantes porque tenía varios años sin conversar con ellas, fueron compañeras de trabajo, que ahora buscan a cobijarse en las artes manuales, que mejor que la costura, especialidad en ropa íntima para emprender y entretenerse.

The institution that provides shelter for teachers of sewing, knitting, cooking and hairdressing is the Maria Corina de Zubillaga school, run by the Catholic religion. This institution has the necessary equipment to carry out the courses: sewing machines, overlock machines, tables, mannequins, refrigerators, stoves, mixers, etc. It is located in the city of Carora.

La institución que presta el servicio de acobijo para que maestros de costura, tejidos, cocina y peluquería es el colegio María Corina de Zubillaga, dirigidos por la religión Católica. Esa institución posee los equipos necesarios para realizar los cursos: máquinas de coser, máquinas overlock, mesas, maniquíes, neveras, cocinas, batidoras, etc. Esta funciona en la ciudad de Carora.

I was surprised to see the beautiful work of my friends, I can see that the teacher in that area of intimate apparel made the work of her students to learn very well the sewing techniques.

Me sorprendió ver los trabajos hermosos de mis amigas, se observa que la maestra en esa área de ropa íntima hizo el trabajo de que sus alumnas aprendieran muy bien las técnicas de costura.

There was also an exhibition of flannel, pajamas. As for the knitting I was excited when I learned that my friend's mom also participated in sandal knitting 👡 and hats, flowers and purses.

También hubo exhibición de franelas, pijamas. En cuanto a los tejidos me entusiasmé cuando supe que la mamá de mi amiga también participó en tejidos de sandalia 👡 y gorros, flores y carteras.

I was very interested in the courses and I asked about the schedule for the next semester and they told me that they had it scheduled for October and also the costs. I am planning to sign up for one of them.

Estuve muy interesada con lo de los cursos que pregunté el cronograma para el próximo semestre y me comentaron que lo tenían pautado para octubre y además los costos. Tengo planteado anotarme en alguno de ello.

I noticed that the place is quite organized, and the attendees are friendly people. I liked the atmosphere. Hopefully by that time I will be able to sign up and start this new adventure. Because for years I have done sewing, knitting, empirically watching specialized magazines, now through videos and photos. But in contact with a teacher directly I have not lived that experience.

Noté que el lugar es bastante organizado, y los asistentes son personas amigables. Me gustó el ambiente. Ojalá para ese tiempo este bien y pueda inscribirme y comenzar esa nueva aventura. Porque por años he hecho costura, tejidos, de forma empírica viendo revistas especializadas, ahora a través de videos y fotos. Pero en contacto con una profesora de forma directa no he vivido esa experiencia.

My mother did take several courses, but she did not do so much practice and did not undertake any of the areas she learned. For my part my interest is to take the step of entrepreneurship, since I am introverted and fearful and already with a course in the desired area, I should act more firmly. I think so, ha, ha.

Mi mamá sí hizo varios cursos, pero no hizo tanta práctica ni emprendió en ninguna área aprendida. Por mi parte mi interés es dar el paso de emprender, ya que soy introvertida y temerosa y ya con un curso en el área deseada, debo actuar con mas firmeza. Eso creo ja, ja.

Now I am very excited to tell this beautiful story, because I didn't have enough time to make a craft besides taking every picture for the tutorial. So when I saw this group of people proud for having achieved their projects, because they all look happy, I determined to capture every word to get this writing and present it to you.

Ahora estoy muy animada narrando esta historia muy bonita, pues no tuve suficiente tiempo para hacer una manualidad además de tomar cada fotografía para el tutorial. Entonces cuando vi este grupo de personas orgullosas por haber logrado culminar sus proyectos, porque se ven todas felices, determiné plasmar cada palabra para obtener este escrito y presentarlo ante Uds.
