My experince of Online Travel Booking

I am doing good, and I hope that you are having a good time with your near and dear ones.

We all like traveling and some people are so fond of it that they travel frequently to explore new places and experience something that they have never done before. It is one of the activities that give us the opportunity to experience something that we have never gone through but it is also an expensive game because it requires money. Now we have the option to book travel using online platforms and the entire process is quite easy and convenient. sometimes there are deals available which can be discounted and over the options to go far but all this because there is a lot of competition in the market.

With the reach of Internet accessibility things have become easy and it is good. We still have travel agents having their physical offices but I believe they are struggling to run their business since there are so many travel aggregators available in the online model. We just need to visit the website and check out the deals available as per the travel preference.

there are multiple players operating globally and even if I talk about India then I can count a few well known brands operating online. Some of these names are makemytrip, yatra.com, EaseMyTrip and trivago, etc. Recently I was trying to book a deal for one of my relatives so I checked out these platforms to figure out the lower prices. I was able to find a nice deal with hotel accommodation but I was surprised to see that even the hotel was offering a lower price as compared to what these aggregators are offering finally, I closed the booking through the hotel portal as well.

This is the first time when I got to know that even the hotels have got their portals through which they encourage people the booking. this can be a good competition for these travel aggregators because if the hotel is providing better pricing through their platform then obviously people would like to get routed to them directly instead of going through the intermediary. I'm not sure how it works But I think hotels are required to pay a certain percentage to these online booking websites and when they get the customer directly then that amount can be given to the direct customer in the form of an additional discount. The customer is happy because the booking is provided at the lowest price possible at the market and the hotel is happy because they are getting more customers directly which is helping them have a bigger user base.

It's like a win-win situation for the customers as well as hotels and both are happy to transact this way however in this the loss will be for the travel websites as they might be getting fewer users visiting their platforms. Overall I was happy to see how these things are improved over the years and now the travel industry is also adopting the technology as the hotels are highly advanced and they are maintaining their platforms for the age of customers. I also got to know that we can travel using cryptocurrency through one of the websites but I'm not sure about it so I will go through and share some insight about that portal in my later post.
