My new year Celebration was a blast, a memory I will always remember.

In the past my new year Celebrations often come with bits of challenges here and there, this is the first new year I have ever had that felt different. The winter has never been my friend and when it comes like that begining in the month of November the changes that often comes along with it gets me sick before the new year and cross over eve. Most people often experience cough, cold, catarrh and probably catches a flu around this season.
Your immune system needed to be strong enough for you not to experience any of this sickling effect when the harmattan season begins.

Such has been my experience year in year out. December feels like the coldest time for me and as at last year December I was terribly sick from the cold 🥶. I couldn't attend any of the Christmas or new year cross over services because of a chest congestion. The celebrations wasn't a pleasurable one for me at all and while people went to church, clubs or wherever they wanted the new year to meet them I was wrighten in pains in my room. Coupled with this I had experienced a sleep paralysis on the 29th of December last year that was frightening and also got me really scared and feeling like I will not make it the new year.

This year I have hoped that things get better and they actually did.
While I have had very close experiences there were cautions along the way for me that kept me in check. I have caught the flu just like every other year but this time I have made a good friend who is a medical doctor that has been kind enough to always keep my health in check. He went all out and got me some drugs such that when the flu came it didn't last long with me before I got healed, hallelujah 😃

This year I was equally able to attend the new years cross over service in church rather than been stock to my bed sick. You know how it feels when you are able to sing, dance and receive the blessings of God at exactly 00:00 timing of the midnight taking a step to begin the new year with others.

Congratulations hugs and kisses filled the atmosphere in church because it wasn't an easy journey through the year and everyone was happy to have made it into another year 2024.
I had worn about 4cardigans to the service eve to keep away cold and my socks and gloves where with me with a packet of Tomtom which I occasionally pop into my mouth during the service to clear my airways.

The new year day for 2024 was another special moment for me. It was a home coming. I have made preparations for everyone to come together in my house so that can see each other and celebrate together after years of been a part.
There were excuses and it all seemed like it wasn't going to work out but in the end we had lunch and family pictures together with everyone complete which would be kept for memory sake.

The privileges I have enjoyed before and in this new year surpassed whatever I would have wish to have that wasn't available and for that I am more than grateful and hence this is a blast for me, that my joy was complete stepping into a new year.

You might find it amusing, but being pragmatic with cardigans, socks, gloves, and a packet of Tomtom - a lot of them - or like we called them here "onions" 😁😂 is my survival kit against the flu. It's like participating in own version of the TV show Survivor! But thank God you are okay now. Thank you for sharing 🙏😌
