Healthy rosella ready for Harvest Yet awaiting seed production

IMG_4819.jpeg

Finally the rosella plants have ripened and the greenish color of the capsule later have now turned red here

IMG_4820.jpeg

Although this is looking inviting for us to harvest and make soup 🍲 almost immediately we cannot harvest these yet. If we needed to plant rosella next year again we have to to give this a little more time so that seed production can be complete within it .
Hence after harvest we remove the thick layer for soup while the seeds is preserved for next year harvest

Wanting to check out if the seeds within have matured up properly I picked up a pod and tried opening it here

IMG_4806.jpeg

I wasn't successful with that it ended up depositing itchy spikes on my palms and I had to deal with that below

IMG_4815.jpeg

I had wanted to pick a capsules that has not produced very well without knowing that these ones have gone bad and all covered up with those tiny itchy spikes.

IMG_4816.jpeg

With no gloves on I have dealt with itchy all over my skin and palms.
There may practically be no seeds in those tiny capsules and now we have to give these well produced and riped ones a week or two to harvest them so that we can equally have some good seeds within.

It is good to read more about the rosella, at least, I am learning. Sorry for the itchy, I hope you find something to clear it.
