Another Homestead day checking on the Millet farm and some possible concerns

IMG_5261.jpeg

Ever since my last visit in the guinea corn farm some 9days ago, today I made it a point of duty to come check on the farm again. I had the opportunity to find some not too tall guinea plant and was able to take some close shot. Just like with every other plants, the spikelets didn't all produce at the same time. While we had this one like this I will show you some others who already have guinea corn seeds inside of them.

Now we have some more matured spikelets here with guinea seeds within them

I decided to pop some of the seeds to see the semi liquid inside and the level of growth of the seeds but the grain within seems very dark and I have no idea if I should worry about that yet.

We have different species of guinea corn seeds and I am familiar with the red and white seeds and haven't seen anything like this before.

I will be giving this a week or so in order to drop by and check if this is a good sign of not.
This guinea corn should be ready for harvest lastest in the month of December.

There are no more rains and it used only the morning mist to produce its seed. The weather is very hot, sunny and dry even today that one can barely open an eye

One of my to-do list today is to stop by in the farm, check for possible damage by rodents or even the cattle rearers.

From the view of it, this one should be the white guinea corn

Weldone for the supervisory roles you are putting up there. Farming is not only about planting and just go away but checking on them from time to time.
