Achieving financial goals in life is a challenging topic that everyone is in search of best means to achieve this. So many factors may contribute to how well we can achieve our financial goals.
While some chose to work harder and harder running multiple Jobs, others have taught about multiple investments and spreading their resources. All this aims at saving more in order to grow.
But have I ever taught about been frugal as one way to achieve my financial goals.

Maybe not in the way and manner I do now. Some lifestyles have been some of the easiest things in life which we have ignored but that really counts alot.

I have always had the habits of buying cheap things just to meet with immediate need seeing this as a good way to save more, but has this been helpful? NO.

While Bargaining for the best price it is important to put both quality and durability in mind as well.
Buying cheap things can help me save more but once the items purchased are not durable they can get damaged or perform below standard and in worst case we need to buy another or replace those items within a short time. This way I end up buying a particular item multiple times. This way I end up spending more buying the same item over and over again.

The frugal way and approach to this is buying a quality and durable item and at a good price. I could use them for years without replacement and the monies expected to be used for constant replacement of buying cheap things can be saved.

Quality and durability might not be cheap they come with a price but they save me of some long term losses

Some of the ways frugality can help you save more is by

  • Learning more DIY

  • Diy is a beautiful way to be creative with your mind, there are so many household task that you can learn to do yourself to save cost. Recycling of old items to meet your current need. Improvising for some needed items in the house that will cost you more to purchase the actual item.

  • Buying used items: Some people are usually very proud to use an item that someone else has previously used. They prefer to buy them new.
For instance there has been a recent outflux of people from Nigeria to other countries while some have seized these opportunities to buy their used household items cheaply. And since these items involved are also very cheap, durable and of high quality, I heard someone saying that she can never buy or make use of a mattress that another fellow have used.
Although there items that we may feel odd and awkward if we thought about buying used ones, these are restricted to personal belongings.
But even advanced countries I have seem people buying thrift or second hand clothes.

  • Maintaining an item in used/purchasing at the right time.
You all know what happens when we fail to maintain some household gadgets or replace some old spare parts at the right time.
You tend to spend more if you do not service your car or carry a proper maintenance on it. This has been a challenge and one way people spend a whole lot to repair damage just because they have failed to do a regular maintenance.

Been frugal is one way to achieve your financial goals, you may be overworking yourself to save more when you can adopt a simple lifestyle that cuts down cost.

Thank you for sharing. Those relocation items are not bad in its real sense but, I won't go for electrical items as a relocation purchase from my experience.
Durability is vital to making purchase of any item.

Thank you for sharing

Fair point. You have to be certain of the quality of what you are purchasing for sure.

Adopting a simple lifestyle is something I much prefer. Engaging in DIY is a great tip in becoming frugal. Oftentimes, we unnecessarily waste money on things we can easily do for ourselves. DIY not only saves us costs but we develop new and relevant skills with it too.

It is our personal choice to choose which path will be favourable and preferable to embark on a journey of success because the mindset is to be successful so we thrive hard to achieve it.

The frugal way and approach to this is buying a quality and durable item and at a good price.

I think some of my idea might be rubbing off on you.

I heard someone saying that she can never buy or make use of a mattress that another fellow have used.

My wife would laugh at this quote. When we first got married I was broke. The house I bought came with a bed and mattress. I used that bed and mattress. I think the elderly person who previously lived in the house died on that matress.

Now the mattress was well cleaned, aired out and sanitized so I had no problem with it.

My wife was horrified! We bought a new mattress shortly thereafer.

Learning more DIY

DIY can be great. Just remember you only have so much energy. I have lots of projects I want to do...but so many that things get forgotten or at just sitting forever taking up space.

Choosing the right DIY tasks is important.

But even advanced countries I have seem people buying thrift or second hand clothes.

I'll never forget the first time my wife found thrift stores and garage sales. She came to me and said "Jason...don't tell anyone but I learned about garage sales and they are awesome. Just please don't tell anyone as I don't want them to know I shop there"

(Edited)

All of the ideas and not some of it.

It is working for my good.
Omg. I can't stop laughing reading this.
I will be scared to sleep on that mattress as well unless I don't know the story behind it.
