Torture cells of our liberation war

Its August,a month which reminds us the tragedy of 15 august of 1971.We lost our intellectuals on that day. Which is still hunting our country. Those were the days of immense torture and full of tragedys on Bengali people. Which we still remember and repent for the lose we had.

This month reminds us the liberation specially the tortures and sufferings of the war. How we endured too much brutality during that 9 months. Even in that past we also suffered a lot directly or indirectly. Which is still remembered in our hearts.

In our locality there is a place which reminds me the days of the liberation war. The moments of torturing the bengali people inhumanly. Where people were brought and tortured all in without mercy. The name of my village is 'Datiara'. Here is a power development board office which is known as 'Wapda'.Its in the Brahmanbaria sadar. You may visit it very easily. Here are some tortures cells which were used during our liberation war for torturing the innocent bengali people around this locality.

Here are too many foreign people on hive. Let me translate what is written in the board shown in the picture which i have seen at the first glace in that place.

"Datiara wapda office torture center.
The military camp and torture cell was in 'datiara wapda office' of Brahmanbaria city.In these torture cells man and women from different area were kept and tortured. After torturing many were killed in killing field. As a symbol of the tortures of Pakistani military forces four bankers is still to be found here.
To pass the true history of our liberation war to the next generation, the dc of brahmanbaria,Hayat-ud-dula khan reconstructed thes bankers for preservation in 2019."

I often used to here stories of their brutality from my elder uncle. He was during the liberation war. He used to describe me how the military forces used to beat the innocent people. How they used to drag them to the torture cells.Peole from different places used to be brought here and tortured inhumanly. I still remember his words about this place. He used to describe these history of us.

From my childhood i am seeing these place. Everytime i have a picture of our liberation war.How the people used to be tortured here. How miserable those days were for we bengali people's. So this places are nicely preserved by reconstructing them for the generations coming in future. Its a good way to let us make familiar with our history and sacrifices. You may watch some small plants around these banker actually that place is full of small and big trees.

So its our first and foremost duty to know our history, know our origin, know our struggles, know our sacrifices. In these run of knowing these preserved places play a great role to give us a clear view of those histories. We should visit these places more and more and make others also to know about these.

So it was a little writing of our history and some pictures to give you people a little help for imaging those moments. Feel free to share anything with me. Thank you.
