Still not convinced that Steem might be a life changer for you?
Reading these @steemitblog's updates regarding SMT's kinda "give me the chills" to be honest with you all. I mean, I've been hearing about SMT's and communities since day one of my 21 month journey in Steem and I am sure that those who have been here long before I knew about this place, had been hearing about SMT's too for quite some time...
Yet, here we are. Well, we are not there yet but soon...
And while this is the news everyone have been waiting for since...forever...there is an almost disturbing silence from the community members. Really few posts that have to do with SMT's...I guess people need to see them launch first in order to believe...Who can blame them / us actually?
And I can't help but wonder? Are SMT's the secret sauce we've been missing, that will make Steem known in every corner of the globe?
After all, that's the plan isn't it? When we talk about mass adoption I presume we really mean what we say. When we talk about people who would be interested in building their businesses on top of this chain because they would finally realize they they would be benefited a lot if they did so, mustn't we reach out to as many potential investors as possible?
I wonder how many accounts are available at the moment, in case something huge happened and 1 million users decided to sign up in Steem...
Everything crypto related is based on speculation...at the moment. So don't be surprised if you wake up in a morning and see the prices climbing as if they were mountaineers...You saw what happened with Bakkt...you also saw that news from China, probably because they are about to launch their own cryptocurrency, which will be pegged 1:1 to their nation currency was enough to make the price of BTC to go up almost 40% in a single day.
And while I totally understand that in a few years time great applications and real businesses will be the main reason people will log in to their Steem accounts, still, I think that there will always be a small corner for us bloggers / vloggers that love to write and express their concerns.
What I don't understand though is why the hell people are inactive NOW. Can't they realize that till we get there, NOW is the perfect time to be active? That now is the perfect time to be noticed?
You cant force anyone to be benefited from what Steem blockchain has to offer...right?
All it takes is a spark...
Still not convinced that Steem might be a life changer for you? Not everyone is living in Europe and US. Just ask people from Venezuela the impact Steem has in their life, even at these ridiculously low prices...Ask the Nigerian communities too or people from the poorest zones of Asia...
For the rest of us it might not be a life changing factor now, but think what you can do when the price hits 5$...or 10$...because it will, and then, all those who preferred to spend their time watching TV...will regret big time when they realize that the chance that was given to them to earn more when everyone was quitting...was a once in a lifetime opportunity...
Have a great one peeps.
Cheers.
Thank you for posting from the https://steemleo.com interface 🦁
I can't argue with your logic here.
People often cannot see things until they show up. This is why most are late to the game.
After 2 years, many feel that this blockchain is done. They look at the ranking on Coinmarketcap and believe that is an indicator of what is taking place.
I have a feeling there will be a lot of people kicking themselves at this time next year.
Reading the post from Steemitblog was encouraging. Things are really starting to happen.
From an investor's point of view, I definitely wouldn't scroll down to 85th spot of the ranking to find an investing opportunity so I think while the rankings for us "insiders" has nothing to do with the real value, for outsiders probably does...
Hopefully things will look way better for Steem as soon as SMT's are out.
Can't wait for that tbh...
100 % truth!
At least we...the last Steem addicts agree on everything :P
Lol, so true xD
We have that going for us.
These were exactly my thoughts in the post i made two days ago, especially about the impact in places like Nigeria where I'm from,

I'll read it asap mate.
We think alike, obviously!
I don't think the news from China had much to do with the Bitcoin spike. The scared market panic sold into hardcore support at $7500, while the resistance at $8500 was extremely weak to begin with.
I essentially predicted that movement way in advance, in my blog.
The news just sped it up a bit.

I've read it and loved it tbh.
But I have a feeling that this https://twitter.com/blockjournal/status/1188797999901597697 miiight hve something to do with the overall sentiment
news-as-a-catalyst-stop-forcing-the-answer
I suppose that is more relevant to my point.
Honestly though we are thinking small. A 40% spike at this point is insignificant in the face of halving hype and the first winter bull run since 2017.
Resteemed! 👍
Sweet! Thanks!
Yeap :)
I gave SMT some airtime a week ago and they (aside from some friends I've made here) are the main reason i'm still invested. I do think it'll be on the community to push the message though -forget push-ups and 'blog to earn', this is the one to let people know about next year.
I am all in when it comes to SMT’s. There are cases though that when community needs to do everything, including promotion feels like a burden...
I Do believe that we need to use the almost 120K of the DAO via a well designed proposal by a professional marketer/ team of marketers and adverise our product everywhere...
SMT’s will be unique, but ordinary people like you and me can’t reach billion dollar industries / companies. Of course we can shill SMT’s via social media platforms but an ad campaign would be ideal
Good post. Question. SMT and Tribes. What is the difference?

There's so much opportunity that's ready to be taken through Steem. The price of Steem is not a huge concern, if anything, this would a good time to earn and accumulate more. IMO, I think Steem has the potential to being something real great for content creators to be able to earn for your work without needing a middleman.
