My 2019: Achievements and Failures

Lately, my feed page is full of posts describing their achievements and failures. A great contest sponsored by @blocktrades the last couple of years and also a fine chance for people to get to know each other a little better and create stronger bonds as their descriptions are often more...personal.

My STEEM Achievement

I on the other hand have decided to demonstrate my account's growth in the hope of persuading all the new members but also those who have quit blogging, that with a lot of hard work and persistence your accounts WILL grow and that you'll enjoy the fruits of your efforts the following years.

This is the progress I've made the last 6 months

I've used @steempeak's tools and kept loading previous data but I just couldn't retrieve more than that, so I'll stick to it. The image displays my SP from July 1st 2019 till this very moment.

So, on July 1st I was holding ~ 11.500 Steem Power. 5.5 months later I am sitting at 23.800 SP. This is 100%+ growth in just six months.

I am pretty sure that on January the 1st I was holding something like 7K SP...maybe...if I could somehow find a chart displaying my progress from January the 1st, the chart would look even more amazing. @abh12345 ...your help would have been great if ya...you know...or you could make one of those nice posts of yours with this theme...Anyway.

Especially after the 27th of August where HF 21 / 22 was implemented my progress was almost...vertical...and I assume this is how your charts will look like as well.

Note that during this period of time I only made 2 STEEM purchases...something like...1500 STEEM in total. The rest of it is from my author and curation rewards.

It was when most of the bid-bod owners decided to turn into manual curation and ever since then some of them are doing a fine job in curating and often in finding undiscovered but valuable content.

This is why many people keep shouting that this is the best time to be active and contribute. Now! Not tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. NOW. When many decide to give up it's the best chance to be noticed. Look at my chart...It is doable...

I am no better than you and if I could do it anyone can. Probably...

My "Failures"...

I am a huge STEEM / Steem believer. Those of you who interact with me daily probably know that. I am more likely a Steem addict if you will. This is why I had set a target of reaching the "orca" status before the end of this year.

Ambitious...I know...or even delusional...

The thing is that the more SP one is holding the more Steem love can spread around. We need even wider distribution of the token. We need to place STEEM in more hands. If this project is destined to shine this is the way.

Deep down I knew that unless I keep posting like a maniac (kinda hard for a man who is spending more than 12 hours of his day on a regular and a part time job), or invest a substantial amount of FIAT to buy STEEM it would be extremely difficult to reach the 50K mark.

And I was right...I am not even...half an orca, but I am getting there...slowly and steadily...

The way I see it this was a "failure." But there's more than that....

Another Steem failure was my "incapability" to interpret the signs coming from those who used to operate the @magicdice account / app. Yeah...those fraudsters...who grabbed tons of STEEM and are long gone...this farce cost me something like 4K STEEM...OK...laugh at me...I can live with that.

Bottom line is that I find this place super awesome and I like it even with its flaws. I am pretty sure that we'll remember moments like these in a few years time and we'll be proud for staying active and doing everything in our powers to promote STEEM to the world...

Great and exciting times are ahead of us.

Have a great one people.

Cheers.

Man that is incredible!

I've been able to pretty much double the SP of my account first year was like 0 - 1000 and then second was like 1000 - 2500 and then 2500 to hopefully 5000 by the end of the year.

It would be nice to go from 5,000 to 10,000 last year, but that's nothing compared to your growth the past 6 months.

As long as one stays active and contribute something of decent quality it's certain that they will find support here and there.

I am with you brother! I took a little break for a couple days but I'm back and I think I am going to start advocating steem with you! So, if there are any things that I should join, do, or knowledge that I should acquire, please, give me a few tips. :) This year will be better, it's already beginning!!

Shilling STEEM on Twitter or any other social media platform is a good start. Either it is for your original work or just to spread awareness.

There are so many content creators struggling out there...Quite often their content somehow "gets lost" on the way and others are gaining profits from it....disgusting if you ask me...
