Terracore Diary – Entry #1

terracore_diary_thumbnail.jpg

I landed on Terracore exactly one week after the first expeditions had successfully landed. The harsh environment of the planet quickly became apparent to me, making me regret my choice of ever coming here. The merciless sand constantly whipping my face, almost like it was grinding my spirit down along with my face and gear. Not to mention all those other pesky scavengers constantly trying to steal my precious $SCRAP.

Regardless, I was here now and decided I owed it to myself to make the best of it. Take responsibility for my own choices.

I quickly adapted. I trained both fighting skills and defense skills, while upgrading my Engineering equipment and knowledge, to keep increasing my mining rate. I also started gaining experience with attacking other scavengers too, running away with not insignificant amounts of their hard earned SCRAP. Though they've certainly managed to steal some from me too, I'm getting better and better at defending against them. My battle log paints a picture.

It is certain that some are stealing more from me than others. You're on my radar...

Failed Explorations

As soon as I learned about the planned missions to other planets, I also started sacrificing SCRAP for Favor, to be able to visit the closest planet Oceania as soon as possible, to be able to fight those terrifying water creatures lurking in its swampy waters. I soon reached the minimum required favor to be able to visit Oceania, but my resolve was about to be tested yet again.

I'd already bought a few common crates at 100 SCRAP a piece when they were fresh on the market. Having broken most of their contents down to get enough $FLUX for the travel, I was excited for some adventure, to say the least. I even traded some additional FLUX from other scavengers to be able to go several, at a hefty premium if I may mention. Unfortunately my efforts were fruitless. After 6 visits to Oceana and full of disappointment, I decided to count my losses and instead focus my efforts on growing stronger before returning, to increase my chances of finding those precious crates.

There is but one thing to do. Gather more SCRAP. Increase luck. Get more FLUX and travel there again. Treasure is bound to be right around the corner. Right?

Upgrading to the left and right

But even if my expeditions have failed, I've been very satisfied with my ability to keep upgrading my skills and equipment. The latest milestone was upgrading Engineering to 14, giving me a mining rate of whooping 4.6 SCRAP/hr. I've seen other scavengers oogle my equipment from afar, but I can't be bothered. I'm here to stay, and the SCRAP shall be collected, cost whatever it may cost.

Until next time.

What is Terracore?

Terracore is an idle game build on the Hive Blockchain by @crypt0gnome. As concluded in
@hivetrending's post from earlier this week, Plotting 3.5 Months of Terracore Activity, the game has had a healthy and steady growth since its launch about 3.5 months ago, which is very exciting! Make sure to check out their post and leave them an upvote if you find their article interesting or useful.

Finally, if you learned of Terracore from me and want to try it out, feel free to use

I did try both and simply liked terracore better. Mainly because GO was a bit too complicated for my taste.

It looks like I have to try it. I've seen posts about them when they started, but I didn't have a chance to try them at the time. Maybe now is the time.

It's not to late to give it a go I think, as the game is still in beta and updates constantly being pushed out. For me personally it's the perfect idle game, but it may not be so for everyone. Let me know if you do decide to try it out (here or on discord), I may have some starter tips for ya.
