My Hive Goals update + HPUD July 1st

One month ago was my first the first time I set Hive Goals for myself. In that post I promised that I'd do a follow-up post on July 1st, so here it is.

These were the goals I set for myself one month ago;

As you can see the goals I set were for engagement, not numbers, given the former has been my biggest challenge through the years. I did however change this up slightly during the course of the month. The two first bullet points has merged changed to;

• Engage with someone else's content at least two times a day, whether in their threads or their posts

I.e. at least two comments a day on content that is not my own.

So did I reach my goals?

Technically, I almost reached the numbers I was aiming for. There were some days I only managed to make a single comment, but these days were few. The blockchain doesn't lie though, so let's have a look at the actual numbers

As we can see, in the timeframe from May 30th until now, there were 5 days where I missed my goal, and only engaged once. But 0 days with 0 comments! Holy crap, I'm impressed with myself.

Regarding posting, I set out to do at least 1 post a week, i.e. 4 posts in the past 30 days. We did twice that! 8 posts! And most of them had decent amounts of engagement as well! This. is. very inspiring to see.

The intention behind the goals I set last month was to increase my engagement activity on Hive and to post more often. That state has definitely been reached, and in that sense this has been a huge success. I'm very inspired by seeing these numbers and realizing I actually did a good job. I kept up the pressure, even if it didn't feel like it at times. I'll also add that I was sick for almost 14 days (!!!) with pneumonia during this time.

With my first milestone reached, I can start looking forward and focusing on some actual numbers.

Updated Goals: Getting serious with numbers

First and foremost, my initial engagement goals will be a permanent minimum. And given I've proven to myself I can keep those numbers up (even through sickness), I'm feeling confident to start setting some goals for some numbers as well.

By the end of the year (Dec 31st 2023 - 6 months from now), I'll be aiming for the following numbers:

Hive Power (HP)

• Current stake: 13,904
• Target: 16k

According to hivestats.io I earned 85 HP in curation rewards and about 70 HP in author rewards, totalling at about 155 HP. In addition I'll continue to power up 100 Hive each month on HPUD. a month, meaning in 6 months I should have increased my stake by at least 1530 HP (15,434 HP). Let's add a bit on top of that, just to make it a bit more interesting. My target for Dec 31st is 16k Hive Power.

Number of comments

• Current count: 1121
• Target: 2000

I figure it should be interesting to start tracking my comments count as well. There are about 900 days left of the year. If I were to set the target at 2000 comments by Dec 31st, that would entail 5 comments a day for the rest of the year.

That's definitely a stretch, but let's give it a go.

Let me underline it's quality over quantity here. I would never make low effort comments just to pump these numbers.

HPUD July 1st

I'll cram a mention of HPUD in here as well. I did my usual 100 Hive Power Up today, and will continuing to do that for at least the end of the year. I'd power up more, but I'm trying to always have some liquid Hive available for pumps. Gotta say I'm quite happy with the amount of liquid Hive I'm currently able to keep. Let the pumps come!
