Hive Power Up Day - August 1st 2023

I passed the 14k HP mark just a couple of weeks back. That's one more K closer to 20! It's satisfying to see the numbers climb slowly over time as a result of staying persistent.

I powered up the usual 100 $HIVE today, landing me at a total of 14,158 HP at the time of writing.

Retrospect on my past month on Hive

I'll admit my activity on Hive has taken a back seat for the past month. I've still been able to stay somewhat true to my goals of having at least a minimum of daily activity, though we'll have a closer look at the specific numbers in my next Hive Goals-post. The reason is that I've been extremely busy with a massive project I've been working on for the past six months, my first NFT collection that I just launched this weekend on WAX.

But to be fair, working on this project has proved to indirectly be active on Hive too. WAX is in my view Hive's sister chain, and both communities have a lot in common. When I talk to WAX people I always try to mention Hive. And I've been interacting with a lot of WAX people lately.

Besides, all official info about the project is posted to Hive, and I'll also be minting NFTs from the collection on Hive very soon.

Highlight of the month: Attending NFTOPIA3

A part of my marketing strategy for my NFT collection was to have a presence (and a booth) at the web3-convention NFTOPIA3, founded by former @splinterlands employee @waffleskitty. And a big shoutout to her, she's created an amazing community of creators and enthusiasts, and it's just been a true pleasure becoming a part of that community and getting to know talented and interesting people all over the place.

Fittingly enough, I got a booth in the Hive Hall, paid for by the DHF I later found out (how cool is that!).

On saturday night, @rubencress and @crimsonclad hosted an inspiring AMA/talk at the beautifully designed Hive stand (made by @guiltyparties from what I hear) about what Hive is and why it's so great. Several WAX people attended and asked questions, and it was just so cool to see the a-has and other reactions of excitement from them as the strengths and mechanisms of the Hive ecosystem were presented and discussed.

I didn't get a chance to talk to any of them at the convention itself (I was dead exhausted at the time, at 2 AM in the morning), but I did manage to give a shoutout in a Thread the next day. Apparently there are several more upcoming events, and they'll continue doing their work spreading the word about Hive. I think things like this is so important, and it's reassuring that someone are keeping up and making sure we have a presence on such important web3 events like this one.

One of the intentions of my own project is being an ambassador for Hive on WAX as well. Attending this talk gave me a big confidence boost in continuing to keep doing that in my own little way.

The next NFTOPIA event is in 3 months time, by the way. Do consider to attend! It's completely free. And a lot of fun too, with a bunch of different projects (including Hive projects), tons of free NFTs and other activities. And if not for anything else, you'd be one additional Hive person there.

Anyways. Happy HPUD! Let's continue to grow (both our ecosystem and our accounts) together.

I just try to put my time and money where I'm having a good time, and be at peace with the fact that quick money is difficult to get. Just the advice you were looking for, right? :p
