My All-Time Favourite Affogato

What is better than a good cup of coffee I hear you ask? Good quality ice cream covered by a good cup of coffee! The basic Affogato is not much more than that. A few scoops of ice cream, often vanilla flavoured, with good quality expresso shot poured over it.

Since the first time I was introduced to this classic dessert I've been a fan. The Affogato is a (by now) classic Itallian dessert that became popular in the 1950s. It's simple to make, light on the stomach, and very rich in flavour!

While I really like this treat, it was quite rare for me to enjoy. The main reason: not having a freezer in my kitchen... That is, until recently! My new place does indeed is equipped with a freezer. And it's affogato-day everyday nowadays!

I typically make it with a small amount of ice cream, but this is simply my preference.
