You Can Be Better

There are practical life lessons we can learn from the cutlass. It is a tool that has the inert ability which illustrates life transforming principles. There are certain operational principles that govern our journey through life. Understanding these priceless nuggets of life can help one to actualize his/her dream.

A Working Tool

As one who does part-time farming to support my family and for regular exercising for healthy living, I know that a cutlass is a working tool. Without a cutlass there might not be efficiency in carrying out some work. As a working tool, the cutlass has in carrying out some activities and desired plans.

In our individual lives, we have working tools. Your working tool could be singing or drawing. It could be the ability to write or the ability to manage business and organizations. Still at that, your ability could be the ability to give counsels. We all have various abilities which are our working tools.

You Need Strength To Use It

Many people wait for special opportunities before they can put their talent to use. That is not right. As a working tool, the cutlass would not carry itself and begin working with somebody using it. We must put our ability to work. You might not predict its effectiveness until you put it to use. Another lesson to learn from the use of the cutlass is that different people can achieve differently at varying capacity with the same cutlass. This variation is because of differences in strength. A child can't cut a big tree with the same cutlass that a grown up can do. It might interest you to understand that a woman wouldn't achieve at the same rate as a man.

The strength that we need to put our abilities to work is Faith and Self-confidence. You must be confident in yourself before you can do anything successful in your destiny. One has to courageously rise up and confidently practice whatever one has the ability to do believing that he can do it.

Sharpened Or Blunt

The effectiveness of the cutlass depends on whether it is sharpened or blunt. A blunt cutlass takes more energy but gives little output. It will amount to a waste of energy and time to go to work with a blunt tool.
When the cutlass is sharpened, it gives joy to the one using it. You will feel fulfilled and satisfied to work with such a cutlass. The efficiency will be higher when working with sharpened tools than when working with blunt ones.

Many of us are not performing better because we are blunt. It is one thing to say that you have the talent but it is another thing to be good at what you can do. It is a fact that you can be better no matter how you start. Keep working on yourself; improve your skills and learn from the right sources. To be better in life, improve yourself. Do not watch your life waste away, put yourself through productive training and learn to be better.
