If There Were No Monetary Rewards: My Engagement On Hive. #weekend-engagement week 204

Hello friends in the hive community. It is another season for exercising our brains through the #weekend-engagement writing exercise. This exercise is viewed by me as a mental drilling one. I see it a good activity to engage in as it could help in sharpening our minds. This is my entry for this week’s edition of the contest.

As usual, beautiful topics have been rolled out by the host of this program. There are great thought provoking topics. High intellectual spectrum topics. I will be giving my thoughts on the third topic that says:
Would you still want to post blogs on hive If there were no monetary rewards at all? Why or why not? Explain.

Hive Has A Crypto Platform

Engagement in hive for monetary rewards is born out of the mentality that hive is a crypto asset. There basic factor that brings most people to the blockchain is to earn crypto assets in the form of hive. So, posting blogs on hive is affected to a large extend by the availability of monetary rewards.

As a crypto earning platform, hive blockchain is primarily viewed as an investment platform. We all understand that in every investment, making profits is the primary aim of the investors. So, our coming to hive with the mindset of making monetary rewards is not all together absurd.

Hive As A Social Platform

Another unique feature of the hive blockchain is its socialization and educating properties. Hive blockchain has successfully placed itself on the list of social media platforms. As a media platform it has the ability of successfully drawing in patronage even though there were no monetary rewards. Just as we engage on Facebook, WhatsApp and the likes, there would still be rngagement on the hive blockchain even though it were just an ordinary social media platforms without monetary rewards.

My Activity Differences In The Crypto And Social Platforms

In answering the question whether I would still post blogs on hive in the absence of monetary rewards, I would say, yes

Yes, I would still engage in the blockchain in the absence of monetary rewards. It will be to me another social media platform were I meet and interact with another family of friends. Just as I engage in Facebook and in WhatsApp without making a dime, I will also engage here.

The differences between my engagement in the two scenarios would be attaching an investment mentality to it. One would certainly be lesser in commitment than the other. Everyone understands that when it comes to earning money, it is advised that one do it with dedication, commitment and hard work. Even though I'm still learning how to effectively imbibe those useful principles of business pursuit, if the rewards mantra on hive blockchain remains, those days are coming when I will create more contents on a regular daily basis, make comments and upvotes others so has to make profits. At such times, I run my hive blockchain engagement like business (giving it all the time and commitment I can)

Conclusion

Posting blogs on hive blockchain is defined by two distinct factors: as a crypto earning platform and as a social platform. There will still be engagement in the two perspectives but there would be more commitment on the income generating platform than on the ordinary social media platform. I hope I have been able to defend my opinion with these few points I raised. Thank you.
