Our city undergoes development everytime. The development is to ensure that the city infrastructures are always in good condition especially with the road infrastructures. I took this picture in Ilorin City, Kwara State, Nigeria. One of the major roads in the city is being rehabilitated. This road is called Challenge Road. It is the road leading to Tanke and Maraba.

The road serves as one of the major components of the economy. The road infrastructure in the city offers the privilege of moving goods and services around the city. Without a good road network, there won't be free flow of traffic and the economic activities in the city can be grounded.

There are agencies which oversee the maintenance and repairs of the road. In Nigeria such duty is shouldered by the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA). This agency ensures that all the roads in their region are in good condition. They have personnels who go around inspecting the conditions of the road and bringing reports to the general office from which necessary actions would be taken to repair the road where there is need.

Road construction and rehabilitation are done by construction companies who have heavy duty machineries for such work.
