But She Loved Me

About two weeks ago, there's was a prompt on #weekend-engagement where we were asked to discuss a kind of punishment we had received before. Then I remembered one very significant incident in my life. I discussed how I suffered a punishment from my mother which landed me in the hands of a kidnapper in disguise.

We Think They Hate Us

Reading that content will make it sound as if my mother hated me. That is the feeling when our parents constantly scold us. We think that they hate us. We always want to to have our way. We always want to do what we think is right. But our youthful childish reasoning can not be trusted to guide us aright. Many of us have grown up to regret the decisions we have taken in our lives when we were younger. Some even say there could be an allowance for righting our wrongs.

Those Punishments Paid off

When I consider the discipline instilled into my character now; when I consider the level of sanity I possess, I appreciate the fact that God gave me a mother who was not resilient in disciplining me when need arose. I have seen several youths in my community who grew up to become wayward because they were not disciplined when they should have been. So, I have come to realize that it was my mother who truly loved me.

The Destiny Builder

Sometimes, we have had relatives or friends who refuse to keep it calm with us but when problems show up they will be there to help us through. They don't take side with us in our wrong doing but whenever we need a helping hand to lean on they will always be there.

My Mum was such a person. She was the one who used both her resources and her energy to build up my life. Those who made it look as if she hated me never contributed anything tangible in helping me in my growing days. My mother sponsored my education. She helped and supported me in my growing days. She did all in her power to raise me up. What a mother!

The True Helper

Many of us could be in such a situation. Don't let evil minded individuals make you turn your back against those who are your genuine lovers. You could even be a mother who is being hated my the in-laws. Never mind, in generations to come, you shall shine out.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I hope to see you again next time
