Engaging More Women In The Crypto World

I'm guessing I'm becoming an advocacy for women to be more involved in crypto and Web3 in general, as this isn't my first post about women and crypto. It's no longer news that the world is growing to that point where Web3 rules and everyone is involved. It won't be cool to feel that Web3 or crypto is gender limited, having more men or boys in it than women. And so, finding out more ways to involve women in the crypto world is just as important.

From a personal experience, I've come to learn of some ways that would get more women interested in playing a part in the crypto world. Adoption of Web3 in any part of the world and to anyone isn't easy but it is proven that with the right steps taken, more adoption is done.

Focusing on the women, there are ways we could have more women engaging in the crypto world and some of them I thought and some that I have used a few times for my friends are what I'll share in this post.

First, we must acknowledge that Crypto is not gender limited and that women are also technically capable to get involved in what happens in the crypto world. While there are many women who are great at business and not wanting anything to do with crypto, there are women who are just not aware of crypto existence and some who are aware but just needs the right push or conviction to get involved.

Having women conversations and introducing Web3: There's no need to pressure anyone into crypto, little chats and talks could get one interested. Someone said, woman understands women better so having women who are already in crypto go into free conversations with other women could help with the adoption of more women. Stating how their lives have been better with crypto without actually inviting anyone to join you is a way of keeping it open for them to ask questions or get involved immediately. There's almost no one who wouldn't want the easiest way to living if the option is presented.

Tell more stories about incredible female minds: I don't know about you but there's always this motivation that is shared when same genders are aware of one doing little and gaining more while the other doing so much and gaining less. We would agree that crypto is doing way more for us than we're putting in the work unlike many jobs out there. Sharing stories about women who have done a lot in the crypto world is one way to get more women onboard.

Get the girls involved and worry less about the women: It's the same rule with "Catching them young" and I think this would have a lot more impact as they are of younger minds who are more eager to learn something new or awesome. I've seen a family that introduces crypto to their kids even though to a limit, there's hardly a way those kids would find it hard to navigate through Web3 as they get older, I feel they will even have more to share in the crypto world that many oldies haven't thought about. So while you want to adopt more women to crypto, don't focus on just the women alone, get the girls.

Create more investment access to funds and recruit more women into tech: This one isn't something one person can do, it involved getting teams or building a group of people in the crypto world to come together with the aim of providing opportunities to women with the help of crypto. This would get more women involved in crypto even though for the first reason of getting some money to start up business for themselves. Also, recruiting women to get active in jobs that would require them to be active on webs and crypto can also get them interested.

Organising educative crypto spaces and featuring women: I attended a few crypto spaces that featured women in it and I love the reaction they do get in the comments or chats as they speak confidently about what they know in the crypto space. We know how women are placed in the bias that they are made for home keeping or beating children, these spaces changes that thought faster than imagined. Women can do more and they are doing more already in Web3.

Supporting and mentoring young women is also another way and almost same with catching them young. Bringing great female minds together to give orientation to other women about what life in crypto is all about and how to enhance their own business with crypto, all that would build up for greater adoption by women.

Women have a lot to offer to the crypto world as much as the men do, the crypto world should have everyone onboarded for the greater cause, let's work towards that.

Crypto has nothing to do with gender. But I think most of financial cases male person are more active in the current time compared to female and that can be the reason having less women women in crypto space.

Yeah, and that is why more attention should be given to having more women engage in crypto.

I don't think it's so easy to bring in cryptocurrency because many people fear crypto. I think firstly women should need to be active in finance and then crypto is the options.

Hopefully, more women will come onboard.

WoCom Wocom😂

These are some great suggestions, Merit.

In my opinion, I think interest is what pulls peoples attention to things. So the best way to get women interested would be to tell them how crypto aligns with their interest. For instance, if I was trying to get women to Hive, I would most likely mention that they can post their normal pictures and even short tiktok-type videos on Hive. But if I were looking at getting guys here, I would more into the gaming aspect of Hive.

As they say, what a man can do a woman can do better. Considering the population of women to men it’s obvious that we have more women across the globe but we have just a handful of us going into crypto. This means that more work is needed to pull more women into the world of web3.

Now you see more women going into the tech field and this is because they have seen their fellow women do it and excel at it so I think we the women on web 3 need to put ourselves out there to serve as a motivation for the others.

I hope to see more women active in crypto, engaging in conversations online and offline and also doing more projects in crypto. You’ve said a lot of great points, it’s something to keep in mind.

(Edited)

This is a great initiative you have put out there....women empowerment should be focused on more as most women don't have a means of livelihood and can't work.

More Women engaging in web3 will go a long way to raising them above status quo of society....cheers @merit.ahama

That is true, a lot of women aren't doing anything to earn... Web3 will do a lot if they engage more women

What an amazing write-up, it's really awesome.

We must acknowledge that Crypto is not gender limited and that women are also technically capable of getting involved in what happens in the crypto world.

I strongly agree with you on this, I believe it's high time women start taking an active role in crypto, web3, and other important aspect of life.

Thanks for sharing this.
