This is a fun photo contest with a different theme each week. If you are not already following @friendlymoose you should, so that you don't miss out on this opportunity to win some POB tokens and some Ecency POINTS. Be sure and use the #pobphotocontest tag and POST into the Proof of Brain community.

RELIGION

These photos were taken at St Andrew's Greek Othodox Church in Chicago. The church is nearby my son's home, and since my grandson's name is Andrew it seemed like a visit was in order.

I had to look up who St. Andrew was, and learned he was a fisherman and the first follower of Jesus.
St. Andrew was one of the Twelve Disciples of Jesus, and was the brother of Simon Peter.

Please VOTE FOR the Ecency Proposal

I don't think there is a word limit. It is a photo contest. Create a nice post that has information about your photo/photos. Hurry though. The contest ends on Sunday and a new theme begins.

I hope your little Saint Andrew is doing well and getting to see grandma often 😉 Growing up in small towns in the midWest I had never seen any big Eastern Christian churches until I went off to college. I love the icons in these churches.

Same for me. My little Midwestern town had 2 churches. Methodist and Congregational. My grandparents drove out of town to attend a new Lutheran church. It wasn't until I began traveling to other countries that I saw how narrow my childhood world had been! Did you ever visit the Swedenborgian Church of San Francisco?

I may have some old prints, but I visited back in the days of film cameras and didn't take many photos. It was all so nature oriented, I really thought it was gorgeous.

That is how I was when I visited some of the great cathedrals of the world. I stood in awe staring up and all around!

Lol. That happened also when I went to one church like that around here. It's very big and I was just staring til some asked me if I am coming for the first time. Then I could not deny it than to say yes 😁
