Christmas At the Gardens
The light display this year at the Botanical Garden is spectacular, even without any snow. They claim there are over 1.5 million lights.

The mild temperatures that we have been having made it much more pleasant to walk through and enjoy the lights. It's certainly much easier to take pictures when your fingers aren't freezing!
The displays are dazzling, but I love it when there is a bit of snow on the ground to hide the electrical cords. Even though most of the lights are LED, I always wonder what the electrical bill must be!
Admission to get in is $12 for adults and $5 for children. They have limited hours and lights go off at 9pm.
The walk is about 2/3rds of a mile, but you can walk at your own pace and stay as long as you like.

Rotary Gardens is here in Janesville. It is such a beautiful place. One of the best gardens in the Midwest. When I was a kid it was an abandoned quarry where local kids went to get up to all sorts of shenanigans!
Thats a cool back story 👍 seems every midWest town had a quarry with a reputation as a place kids got into trouble. And various other urban legends.

I'm with you. It's a fund raiser for the garden, so I suppose that is how they justify it. It is such a huge waste of energy.

Wow those are beautiful! Well worth the admission price. It's nice that is wasn't too cold so you could take your time to enjoy them. I love Christmas lights!
