Bacchusmarch is a serene region nestled in the heart of nature's beauty north west of Melbourne in Victoria and it is home to McKenzie's Flat a hidden gem known for its tranquil waters and beautiful landscapes. Swimming at McKenzie's Flat is not just about taking a dip it's about immersing oneself in the embrace of nature and creating memories that last a lifetime. One of the most cherished activities at McKenzie's Flat is swimming in the pristine waters of the river but it also is home to some wonderful bush walking tracks and also has BBQ facilities for families to enjoy a meal together. The river's gentle flow invites swimmers of all ages to bask in its refreshing waters offering respite from the heat of the day especially these three days where the mercury has hit 40 degrees celsius in some places and it is a beautiful sanctuary for those seeking solace from the hot Australian Sun.

What sets McKenzie's Flat apart is not just the act of swimming but the unique features that adorn its waters. Amidst the river lies a majestic rock a natural monument that has become a focal point for adventure seekers like my kids, rising proudly from the riverbed with its rugged beauty and promises exhilarating experiences for those daring enough to explore. is a giant rock which many take leaps off into the water below. But only to one side of the rock as the other side is too shallow to jump into.
