Splinterlands Rewards Hidden Gems?

Who would have thought Rage would be an ability worth investing after all these years in the game. Drybone Barbarian has been a staple in my life formations now in bronze league. The high melee and health makes it a good tank if I can give it a ton of toughness prior to battle.

The card goes great against water when players use Kelya Frendul. Furthermore whether its magic or melee attacks as long as Drybone can handle the damage it will inflict severe damage against opponents in return.

In using Grandmaster Rathe I have a start in toughness followed up with void. This allows Drybone some decent defense stats.

There are not many life monsters with protect and it dwindles even further in modern league. Fortunately one that does have protect and in my ownership is Arkemis the Bear. A good choice in high mana bouts.

Repair is also another limited ability in life but Scavo Hireling is a perfect fit. I incorporate it in low mana matches in lieu of Arkemis the Bear.

Then there is tank heal to cover health and I typically use Venari Crystalsmith in support of Drybone.

Now you maybe wondering why defend and heal a common card when there are so many other options? The fact is under low mana and bronze league there appears to be a lot of multiple small monsters combined in formations in use. To say that Drybone is an all around great card is not right. Instead the use of Drybone in bronze league is an unsung hero. In other leagues it maybe not ideal to be used as rage can easily be overtaken.

Yet with bronze league there are not many monsters that can do a knockout in one hit. With Drybone it is different as the stats are reasonable for the bronze league. As long as it is protected and can withstand hits the card can return big dividends in the playing field.
