Little Effort Can Go A Long Way |- Hive Naija Weekly Prompt | Edition 41

As patriotic citizens, we are expected to be in our country. It is our obligation to make a positive impact that would lead to the good of the country. We don't need to have millions before we can contribute to the positive growth of our country; little efforts can go a long way.

I often hear from our elders that if you can't contribute with the little you have, you can't contribute when you have the whole world. Making an impact doesn't have to be doing the whole world; doing the little we can can make a great difference. There are so many ways to show our contribution to the betterment of our country.

We all have the ability to make an impact wherever we find ourselves. Personally, education is one aspect I'm contributing my quota in building brighter Nigerian citizens in the future. Education is the key we say and hear every day, which is a factual statement.

Improving Nigerian citizens to find their potential is my one way of promoting the essence of education. I find it very sad when kids don't get quality education because their parents are not financially stable, depriving these kids the privilege to be where they are supposed to be. One thing I do for the few kids around where I reside is trying to get them engaged by teaching them different topics and making sure they understand it to the best of my ability and doing well to support any educational program I come across.

Also, another way is visiting the orphanage home. Showing empathy and kindness to those kids is one way of building a better Nigeria. No matter how small the effort is, I don't really consider that; my major concern is doing that with all my heart and also giving something that I would love to receive if I were to be in that state.

Giving the measure of what you would want to receive if another person offers it to you is what we mean by kindness. Helping others who need our help is one way to spread compassion and inculcate that in the life of others. I try my best to help others in any little way I can.

So many people give and expect to receive higher measures from those better than them; life is a mystery and things don't go the way we plan it. Sometimes when things fail to work as we planned we get discouraged and stop the good we have been doing. When we help others with such a mindset, we are not contributing positively. Giving in love is helping out without expecting anything in return.

These are just a few ways I contribute to making a difference. I am very much happy when I see I'm helping out those in need through putting smiles on their faces. Nothing gives me joy than that. We rise by lifting others and kindness is an act that if practiced by half of the Nigerian population, our country will be a better place.

There are so many ways we can contribute to make our country what it should be without hoping to do so when we have become billionaires. It is of essence for us as Nigerians to contribute in any meaningful way we can for those around us to feel blessed having us around.
