What is a Drone?

A drone also know as unmanned aircraft system (UASes) and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is defined as an unpiloted aircraft or spacecraft that is capable of traveling above the ground level without any piloting control.

A drone can be further defined as a robot that fly which can be control with the use of remote or can be control by programmed software that makes it fly automatically. Drones had been in existence for long and it's still existing with more features and importance than that of the olden days. Drone comprises of Flight controllervGPS module, battery, antenna, receiver, cameras, sensors etc. Drones are used in different sector to perform different tasks and operations.

Some of the sectors that uses the application of drones include photography, agriculture, transportation, etc. There are two types of drones namely rotor and fixed wing. Rotor can be further divided into single rotor or multi rotor which comprises of quadcopters, tricopters, hexacopters and octocoptors. Example of fixed wing include the hybrid vertical take off and landing. Drones required a skill personnel to operate as it's control is highly intellectual.

The Application, Usefulness And Future of Drones:
The application of drones in the agriculture sector helps to monitor the management of the plantation and also to perform irrigation when needed. It monitors the affairs of the farm, to indicate the area affected by pest and to check the production rate of the farm.

Photography drones that is, drones with camera attached to it are used in this area as it captures and record the affairs of the farm. Drones with irrigation system attached to it can also be used to wet farms that needs irrigation. This really help a lot in agriculture and will also boost the rate of agricultural production in the future as agriculture will be made easier with drones.

Drones are now used for good delivery. People have now started using drones to send or deliver message from one location to another. With the help of GPRS in drones, it will help detect the exact location of anywhere that is instructed of it to go.

Once the location is imputed by the controller, the drones automatically take off to deliver the message at the exact location without stress. In future, transportation will be minimize since people move from one place to another just to deliver messages to themselves and drones will be available for almost everyone.

It will also promote laziness especially among youths, the message that will be expected of them to deliver physically probably to hear the report or feedback will now be delivered by drones since almost every one will have access to it by then.

Photography drones are gradually burying all other photography gadget and replacing them with drones. Photography is one of the major area that uses drone. Pictures can be taken with drones as well as videos can also be recorded with it.

Drone is said to be very fast and accurate when recording and it covers a very long distance that a normal camera can not cover since drones travels above the ground level. Photography drone are mostly used for documentaries especially documentaries that can not be recorded physically by man.

For example, it can be used to document the zoo, to check how each animal in the zoo behaves. As time goes on, digital single lens reflex camera will no more be used as drones will take over their work with less stress and better result or outcome. Though there will be limited number of photographers as photography will now require much more capital and will require skill personnel and professionals.

Drones in collaboration with the security agencies will help in the security of a country or anything that needs security. Since security agencies can not be active in all places at all time, and the CCTV cameras that most agencies use does not covers the area well and are easily indicated and destroyed by criminals. But with the use of drone, is will be able to cover a large distance at a time and also detect strange and harmful devices.

It will help fight the problem of insecurities in most countries and the fear of being caught will reduce crime rate.
Drones also have effects on logistics. Goods can be transported from one place to another probably industries using the heavy duty drones instead of trucks and cars on the road. Heavy duty drones are drones that are capable of transporting heavy and huge goods from one place to another.

It will even rapid the speed of the delivery because there will be no obstruction in air and it tends to be very fast. It will also reduce or minimize accidents because the major causes of accident on the road are the heavy trucks which will no longer be useful for transporting goods.

Drones will also be used to fight wars in future though some advance countries have started using it. Military drones are drones designed and programmed for fighting wars without being controlled by any pilot.

All weapons that are supposed to use for the war are attached the drone and the location will be set, and the drone will travel to the location with the help of the GPRS and will attack the location with the weapons inserted to it. It will reduce the death rate and killings of military personnel as the number of their physical appearance will be minimize and at worse, the drone will only be attacked and might be destroyed.

Drones will also be used for searching and rescuing with the help of a sensor called thermal sensor. The thermal sensor helps indicate and fetch out any banned material. It will be helpful in embassies, airports and seaports for detecting harmful object like weapons and ammunitions, hard drugs, hard currencies, etc. that people are intending to export to another country. It will also be used by the police or any rescuing agencies for emergency cases.
