A big and a huge carnival party. LOH 139 contest (ESP/ENG)

Hola a todas las mujeres hermosas que hacen vida en esta comunidad. Hoy me animé a participar en el concurso de esta semana, pues una de las preguntas me hizo click casi de inmediato, y mis recuerdos afloraron sin mucho esfuerzo.

Ante la pregunta

"La vida está llena de sueños incumplidos, pero también de logros que no habíamos soñado. Cuéntenos un sueño hecho realidad que nunca pensó que realizaría en su vida."

La primera respuesta que se vino a mi mente fue vivir fuera de Venezuela.

Siempre consideré que había nacido en el país equivocado, y desde mi primer viaje al extranjero, esa semilla germinó mucho más allá de mi mente: realmente era posible que no perteneciera a esa sociedad que por muchas razones me rechazaba.

Un día desperté con la idea de irme a vivir en Trinidad y Tobago, sin saber siquiera lo que me esperaría allá, pero estaba decidida a cumplirlo, a pesar de no contar con el dinero ni algún conocido que me recibiera, por lo más para orientarme en ese país.

Mi mamá siempre me dijo que me dejara de tonterías y pusiera los pies en la tierra, pero yo hacía oídos sordos cuando comentaba al respecto.

Pasaban los meses y mi idea era motivo de burla entre los miembros de mi familia, pues mamá se dedicó a comentarles sobre mi plan, y ello me llevaba a pensar que quizás tenían razón y yo solo era una loca soñadora.

Sin embargo, llegado el mes de diciembre, por casualidad reviso algunos cursos de inglés que impartían allá y encuentro uno a mi medida, en el que además gestionaban el hospedaje, y de inmediato les escribí, recibiendo respuesta de forma automática.

Al tener mis ahorros fuera de Venezuela, ordené la transacción vía fax y en menos de 3 días ya había arreglado todo para empezar a estudiar inglés un 11 de enero.

Con ese paso, todo lo demás se aceleró. Encontré un vuelo super económico y reservé para irme el día 9, así que mi regalo de navidad para mi incrédula familia fue anunciarles que en tres semanas estaría saliendo del país, rumbo a buscar aquello que me estuvo rondando en la cabeza durante un año.

Ese día empezó a cumplirse mi sueño, ese que nadie creía que se haría realidad. Y estando ya en Trinidad coincido con los carnavales de ese año. Para mi sorpresa eran muy distintos a los que había vivido en Venezuela, y por supuesto disfruté tanto el carnaval de la calle, viendo las carrozas de cerca, escuchando el steal pan en vivo, y luego la final en el espacio donde los jurados calificaban a cada una, ya de una manera más formal.

Aunque no soy de ir a fiestas, me fuí con la señora del lugar donde vivía al lugar de los jurados, vimos todo sentadas en primera fila, compartiendo bebidas y snacks. Y para mi sorpresa, una desconocida que tenía al lado ne hizo una pregunta en inglés y yo le respondí con total normalidad y me entendió!

En ese momento yo no cabía de la emoción. Ya hablaba con fluidez y me hacía entender en el idioma que apenas un mes antes había empezado a estudiar.

Con esa experiencia, viene enlazada la segunda historia, ya que se trata de otros carnavales.

Regresando a Venezuela, luego de culminar mis estudios, consigo entrar a trabajar en Telesur, y a escasos 3 meses de empezar ahí, me mandan a un proyecto especial en Río de Janeiro, en donde se suponía haríamos el proyecto en 10 días para luego regresar al país.

El asunto se extendió por solicitud del cliente y coincidió con las fechas del carnaval más importante del mundo! Nos dieron pases para los 4 días de desfile, para verlos en uno de los balcones VIP, con todo incluído (comidas y bebidas), así que ese fue mi otro sueño que jamás imaginé realizar.

Y con esto me despido, no sin antes decirles que sigan soñando, pues mientras más fuerzas le demos, estamos más cerca de hacerlo realidad.

The first answer that came to my mind was to live outside of Venezuela.

I always considered that I was born in the wrong country, and since my first trip abroad, that seed germinated far beyond my mind: it was really possible that I did not belong to that society that for many reasons rejected me.

One day I woke up with the idea of going to live in Trinidad and Tobago, without even knowing what would await me there, but I was determined to fulfill it, despite not having the money or any acquaintance to welcome me, at least to orient me in that country.

My mother always told me to stop fooling around and put my feet on the ground, but I turned a deaf ear when she commented on the matter.

Months went by and my idea was a source of ridicule among the members of my family, since my mother kept telling them about my plan, and this led me to think that maybe they were right and I was just a crazy dreamer.

However, when December arrived, by chance I checked some English courses they were offering there and I found one that suited my needs, where they also arranged accommodation, and I immediately wrote to them, receiving an automatic reply.

Having my savings outside Venezuela, I ordered the transaction via fax and in less than 3 days I had arranged everything to start studying English on January 11.

With that step, everything else accelerated. I found a super cheap flight and booked to leave on the 9th, so my Christmas present to my incredulous family was to announce that in three weeks I would be leaving the country, heading to look for what had been on my mind for a year.

That day my dream began to come true, the one that no one believed would come true. And being already in Trinidad, I coincided with the carnivals of that year. To my surprise they were very different from the ones I had experienced in Venezuela, and of course I enjoyed the carnival in the street, seeing the floats up close, listening to the steal pan live, and then the final in the space where the juries qualified each one, already in a more formal way.

Although I don't go to parties, I went with my land lady to the jury's place, we saw everything sitting in the front row, sharing drinks and snacks. And to my surprise, a stranger next to me asked me a question in English and I answered her normally and she understood me!

At that moment I was overwhelmed with excitement. I was already speaking fluently and making myself understood in the language I had just started to study a month before!

With that experience, the second story is linked, since it is about other carnivals.

Returning to Venezuela, after finishing my studies, I managed to get a job at Telesur, and just 3 months after starting there, I was sent to a special project in Rio de Janeiro, where we were supposed to do the project in 10 days and then return to the country.

The matter was extended at the client's request and coincided with the dates of the most important carnival in the world! They gave us passes for the 4 days of the parade, to see them in one of the VIP balconies, with everything included (food and drinks), so that was my other dream that I never imagined I would realize.

And with this I say goodbye, but not before telling you to keep dreaming, because the more strength we give, the closer we are to make it come true.
