About the Quote

When we do things right, it's because those things have become second nature to us. We already know how to do them. If we do them the same way and they always get done right, we don't learn anything.

On the other hand, when we do things wrong we have to stop and take time to figure out why things didn't work out for us. During this analysis, we consider everything we did, eveything which had to be done before we began, and any other factor which could affect our ability to do things correctly (or to win).

When we do things wrong (especially when we lose in a competition), we learn about everything we need to do to succeed, and part of that learning is to examine failure. Once we figure out why we failed, then we can adjust and try again. We we learned our lessons properly, we wend up successing. Most importantly, the lessons stay with us for the rest of our lives.
