Before I Begin I'll like to thank @saffisara for this interesting topic for the week.
The photos I took last has an interesting story that I'm glad to share here.

Witnessing a Nigerian traditional marriage after a long time gave me joy, and I laughed a lot for all the activities that took place.

This one I witnessed is just the party after the main marriage or bride price has been paid.

My sister told me about a traditional marriage that was taking place so I was excited to go with her.
We arrived at the party while the MC was still saying entertaining things but the main party hasn't begun. There were also a lot of traditional music being played. The first thing that attracted me was the decorations, it is a typical decoration for a traditional wedding party. See below:

The wedding cake looked small but really nice.

There were different segments for different set of crowds to sit.

The mothers of the family known as NDI NNE 👇

The chairman and front seaters. Most important guests sit in front, mostly includes the Uncle's of the family and the father.

I saw how cute the little brides looked in their cultural dresses👇

After a while the bride was called out to perform a ceremony. She is to apply perfume on everyone in attendant. She went round and was applying perfume to everyone.

I asked my mom what the perfume signifies and she said that it means that something good has happened and that such good thing will also come to your family hence the perfume is applied on you.

After this was done traditional music was played for her to dance with the group of girls that follows her (The girls are called Ashoebi)

Next the MC called the bride and stood her in front of the crowd and demanded that 20 people comes out to bail her with N1000 each before she can leave the stage. "Hmmm was this necessary?", That was exactly my thought but who am I to spill it out lol.

So she stood there waiting for up to 20 people to come leave the sum of N1000 for her. Well her family members turned up and gave her the amount each, but then o my 6 people did that for her and there was 14 people left to bail her.

I could see the embarrassment in the smile of the bride but finally she was excused, it was fun for most people, but I didn't really like the idea though

Soon came the arrival of the bride and the bridegroom. They both looked really cute together, I loved the new outfit the bride had and also that of the groom was nice.

See them dancing together 👇

There was a lot of dancing and cheering from the crowd, it was already getting late so I had to start going home but the wedding was already rapping up. I left at the point of them sharing food, I'll likely not get anything to eat because I'm an uninvited guest so I left before then. Though a kind gentleman offered drink to me and my sister before we left for home.

It is one thing to hear and read of Traditional weddings but another to live them by a person who has experienced them. That is how you made me feel with those pictures and narrations.

I would also be embarrassed if I was the one receiving what nobody send MC to do. And las las, he will receive warning.

Swears...that was so annoying, I'm sure he got the warning he deserves lol. But everything else was nice 🤗

Wedding can become exceptionally expensive today, I have attended some where money is pinned on the brides dress toward the end to help cover costs on the day.

Brilliant colours with lots of tradition being carried out here.

Yes, weddings are very expensive these days , here they throw money on the air for them or put in an envelope to help cover the cost.

Yes everything was beautiful!
