How I made Onions stew π²
Since making a regular stew has become more costly, my mom asked me to try making the onions stew. It is something I hadn't tried before but I was eager to learn it, so I did! So I also used the opportunity to take pictures of it to post on hive, though I didn't start taking the pictures from the beginning (it skipped my mind) but we can work something out here though some thing's might be missing lol...
Here are the ingredients I used for the stew:
Ingredients used
4 large onions, thinly sliced
3 small satchet tomatoes paste (Fresh tomatoes are more commonly used)
2 red bell peppers, grated
2-3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
1 teaspoon of ground crayfish
3 dry (cameroon) pepper
Salt to taste
2 Seasoning cubes
1 seasoning powder
Making steps
First step I took was to heat the vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat
Next I added the sliced onions to the hot oil and sautΓ© them until they became translucent. I made sure to stir occasionally to prevent burning
- Once the onions were soft, I added the tomato pastes and stir continously. I made sure to blend the tomato pastes with the oil, slightly thickening the mixture
- Next thing I added the seasoning cubes and some seasoning powder and half cup of water and stirred very well. And then cover the pot for 2 minutes, after that ...
- It was done!
Next thing I did was serve it in a plate. It is served with either boiled yam or boiled rice. In this case I serve with boiled rice
Some do not like their rice mixed with stew so they prefer to serve them in two plates...
O I prefer to mix the stew with the rice , it's much easier and comfortable for me lol:
That was I enjoy my meal very well π

Ok na
The recipe looks very simple, I can use fine cubed Tofu in place of the protein crayfish. And I got lots of long grain rice handy. It's worth giving a try! Thx @madilyn02
Honestly I didn't know what that is so I had to look it up lol! But maybe you use it to replace the crayfish. If you're vegetarian I understand why you won't use crayfish π
Making me hungry !LADY
