Today I come with the intention of telling you how yesterday an event happened to me that I had described a few days ago in a post, although I had the hopes of having made a mistake. It turns out that I had the idea of withdrawing some money from the bank that was in my savings account. Well, that's what I tried to do for most of the morning, and let me tell you, it wasn't easy at all. Because I was in line, which is common here, for almost 3 hours to get in.

You know, with the banking system, going to the bank has become quite a challenge. As I told you in a previous post, things have improved a bit (or so I thought), but it still has its complications. So there I went, determined to face this banking conflict and withdraw my beloved 41000 Cuban pesos, which, making the conversion, is about 164 dollars. It was all I had, but as I do not trust banks and it is complicated to withdraw money in them; I intended to leave the passbook blank, to leave nothing.

I arrive at the bank with my best face, but already from the door I see that the thing is not going to be as easy as I thought. There were a lot of people waiting, and me, thinking that it was going to be a quick procedure. I couldn't have been more wrong.

Finally, my turn comes after what seemed like an eternity. I stand in front of the teller and tell him that I want to withdraw everything I have in my savings account. I pass him the passbook, the cashier checks it, calls the manager and she tells me that I cannot withdraw that amount, that she can only give me 20000 Cuban pesos. I kept quiet, in the end it was not going to solve anything, they would give me whatever amount they wanted and if I protested it would surely be worse.

They didn't bother to explain to me the reason for this, why? They told me to call them on the phone and when they told me to do so, I would go and withdraw the other money. But well, I'm not going to fight with the cashier, he has enough with his job. I decide to withdraw what I can and leave before my day gets worse.

I leave the bank with my money in hand, although not as much as I wanted. Now, what really makes me write to you is to show you the evidence of this banking drama. Yes, friends! Here is the evidence that I tried to take it all out and they only let me take part of it. I don't know whether to laugh or cry, but I decided to share it with you so you can laugh with me, or at me, I am already so confused about this situation.

Anyway, I wanted to tell you this anecdote of my crazy day. I'm not going to ask you if it has happened to you, because I don't think it has. We are not the owners of our own money here, which is why I don't want to leave anything in these institutions.
