If It Doesn't Go As Planned, Don't Fret - Talking It Out Thursdays

(Edited)

Warmest greetings everyone and happy new year once again.

January is already here with us and the days are running as if it's on a marathon race, hehehe.
Well however it decides to flow, I'll flow too whether it likes it or not but once I see say e wan carry me go where I no know, I go tear race oo, lol.

Just like we know January is one of the most tasking months of the year. Most people make plans for the new year, set goals and even draw out strategies on how to achieve such goals.
Some other folks make new year resolutions - things to do and the ones to avoid, that's a good way to start the new year. There are others who do not go through this tradition of making new year resolution, they just continue with the flow which the year brings. Just so you know, human beings differ and what seems so important to one person may be less important to the other.

Just like every other person have goals and plans for year 2024, and how to go about achieving them, I, too have some goals I plan to achieve both on Hive and in my personal life.

One of topics in the last month's engagement challenge on Dreemport centered on our various dreems - that is those things we dream of having or doing in year 2024 and mine is to acquire a land and build a house there. This will cost a lot of money, I know but I won't fret because I'm saving up for it
and that is why I have resolved to be intentional about my Hive activities, work and other stuffs I do that generate income.

Coming to Hive, my goal for the first quarter of the year is to grow my account to 1,500 HP, and Leo stake to 10,000 LP, learn more about crypto and invest in some other viable ones.

Also I've resolved to be active in the community, create more quality and engaging contents, participate and support the ecosystem's projects, and delegate to some viable community projects etc.

I have high hopes that it will be a smooth sail to achieving these goals, because of course I have put up excellent strategies and I'm equally implementing them one after the other, crossing the t's and dotting the i's with the highest morale that I can gather.

Anyone who embarks on a journey always hope to have a safe trip, same way a person who starts up a business expects it to be successful in the long run but we know sometimes, things do not go exactly as planned, the journey to success comes with ups and downs, twists and turns, wins and losses etc so if it happens that after a quarter, and getting half way into the year and it seems like I am making no headway to achieving most of the plans and goals, at first, I will definitely feel sad, unhappy and a little discouraged, who wouldn't be after seeing that all their efforts aren't yielding the desired results.
Anxiety may set in especially if I think too much about the sacrifices, time spent and resources expended to ensure things work.
This is a natural phenomenon and no one can control it so what do I do next?

  • I will relax and keep my cool so I don't bring depression upon myself.
  • Next is to try finding out what went wrong, where things derailed.
  • Again I will look at the goals again and scale them up starting with the most important ones.
  • Armed with these information, I will then go back to the drawing board, the basics to re-strategize, re-plan and then plunge ahead, sticking to my scale of preference so that I won't be overwhelmed, and this time around, there will be positive outcomes.

This is my response to this month's thinker's corner prompt by @kenechukwu97

Thank you for reading.

Threadsaddict. Haha. Happy Hive Birthday to you. I know you've been a buzzy bee on Hive and the goals you set for yourself are quite specific.

Like you said, anyone who sets a goal would want to achieve it.

But, if things go South, it's quite understandable that sadness will set in. You have a good reason for feeling sad and that's the case for most people. The thought of all the time and resources spent working on that goal makes people sad.

Well, we can't let that sadness linger on for too long. The steps you laid out for moments of unfavorable outcome in your goals are fairly practicable.

I wish you the best in this year's adventure. Thanks for joining us in this challenge 👍.

Whammy King, I greet you specially Sir. Always loyal to your kingship, lol 😂

I said let me start small small just like taking the first baby steps and see how it goes. 🤣

That's just the fact of life. One wouldn't set goals, plan on how to achieve them, invest resources and time and then starts jubilating if they fail, that would be crazy. The human tendency of being sad, disappointed and worried will surely show up, but one shouldn't wallow in them too long but seek the alternative plans because those goals must be achieved.

I'm glad to have made it to the contest and thanks for setting it up, you're doing well and I want to be like you when I grow up more, hehehe 😂

Hahah... You've said it all. We are free to have our moments of sadness and we can feel disappointed when something we've worked really hard for fails to achieve success.

However, we can't let that happen for too long. Hehe. It's good to have you join this week of the challenge.

Have an amazing 2024 ooooo.

I like how well you encourage resilience even in the face of setbacks. This is one attribute that many people fail to adopt when needed. Rather, they wallow in pain till forever.

The steps you Shared are really brilliant steps to help anyone get back on their feet.

My dear, one may not be able to achieve anything if they aren't resilient, no one will do it except you so the thing to do is to push further and try again.

Thanks for being here, I appreciate your contribution.

Indeed everyone plans for success, nobody wants to be a failure but then, it happens, the reality of life.

Indeed, we can not control what we expect but we can control how we react to life phenomena, especially for our health sake.

With what you've written down, it is the best way to go about the whole thing if our plans don't work out the way we had expected them at least we have control over our actions which helps us to relax, and go back to the drawing board.

It is ok to feel sad when plans go wrong, but it is good to know that it will not weigh you down, rather you are ready to start all over again and make amends where necessary . Most times, nothing is worth appreciating if we haven't struggled to get it. We hope for the best this year and God willing, it shall be well .Well done

Exactly, feelings of sadness always come when things go wrong but not allowing it to weigh us down is the way to go. We will surely succeed this year.
Thanks for engaging

Re-plan and plunge ahead! That's brilliantly said. You have set your goals, and I do hope you get them achieved.

...also, you have stated things you'd do if they do not yield, and that's a nice way to go.

Hello dearest fashionable dreemer. Another day is here again. I hope you had fun! Remember that you matter. You are a light which lightens the heart of everyone with that smile of yours. So, smile today. I waltzed in from #dreemport, for I am an amazing #dreemer. An awesomely made #dreemerforlife.

Sure, there's no better alternative than that, if it doesn't work out the first time, try it again till it does.

I appreciate your wonderful contribution and compliments, do have an amazing day.
