I am sure this is going to upset some people and I apologize in advance for that. However, if you're recruiting for your MLM or Network Marketing business don't present it as a job that you're looking to hire for. And I understand that social media platforms kind of force that because they don't like those posts unless they are ads that you're paying for. So, pay for the ads and don't try to do an end run around their rules and lie to people who are really in need of an income. That just isn't nice.
I ran across one such post last night. I am not looking for a job or another business opportunity right now. I asked for information just to confirm what I already suspected. And I was right. Big surprise. I recognized the text like a script that I had seen hundreds of times before. I politely told the young woman thanks but no thanks so as not to waste her time to have a chat with me for something I was going to say no to anyway.
I just want to share my experience here. I am not saying that if you're interested in such a business you shouldn't move forward. I am saying be aware and understand the difference. If they are asking for an "investment" of money then it is a business opportunity. If they are still telling you it's a job after that, run screaming the other way. That's called a SCAM!

Totally agree. Be honest about what your intentions are and how things work, if not then I can't trust you. Not with my time, nor my money.

Exactly! Honesty is huge for me. If my stomach hurts when I am listening to someone or reading a post then I know I need to keep walking away or scrolling as the case may be😃

Hahaha I know what you mean. I need to get that "radar" for reading bs though... I can usually detect it when talking to people and hear it in their voices. I guess it comes with experience, as it also did with the reading body language and hearing it in voices for me.

Yes, @tanjakolader! Experience is the best teacher if you are actually paying attention to the lessons it is trying to teach you. I was a hard learner for a long time. LOL Have a great day. 😀

Everyday, I see dozens of these "job" listings. I used to report the ads to the job sites.

It is a bit disturbing, @athomewithcraig. Especially now with so many people being in desperate situations because of COVID-19 and these companies and are targeting them with these "offers". Just curious what happened when you reported them. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment here. Enjoy your day.😀

I have to agree with you Lisa on this one.
Besides... running a business is NOT like a job :)
Have a great day!

Amazes me to see people using those kinds of schemes to try to get to people.
Being transparent and yourself is so much clean and trustworthy!
I'm sorry for you having those "job applications"...
One day we will conquer the world with transparency!! lol
Great rant! Thank you!

You're Welcome and Thank you, Eliana! I was too desperate for too long and that is why I got trapped in those nets. Now I just keep swimming away. LOL Yes, transparency and honesty are traits that are missing both online and offline. Thanks for your support❤️

It is these folks that give industries crappy reputations....MLM, Internet Marketing, affiliate marketing all get grouped as scams because people try to recruit folks as jobs. Non of them pay per hour, it is different and folks deserve to know that. A business and a job will never be the same, and an employee mindset will never run a successful business.

Exactly, @andrewn! I have raised my shields over the years. I guess that is the one good outcome of having experienced this sort of thing. I like being able to share it with other people so they don't get burned and can go in with eyes wide open. Have a great day!😀
