A Lesson in Not Giving Up and a Spoiler Alert if You Watch the Show I am Talking About Here and Have Not Seen the Episode from this last Thursday 1/16

Last night I indulged in watching some of the shows I have recorded on the DVR. One of my favorites is Law and Order SVU. Like I said in the title if you watch this show and have not seen the episode from this last Thursday you may want to stop reading here.

One of the characters, Sonny Carisi, went from being an SVU detective to getting his law degree and started a new position this season in the District Attorney's office. He took on his first case this week and it was a doozy! He was prosecuting a retired football player and celebrity for raping a young woman who worked at a strip club in a private room in the club. This happened right before the Christmas holiday. She did report it immediately to the local precinct and nothing was done about it for more than a month and the officer who took her complaint threw away the file. She was an artist so she used her painting to get the attention for her case and get justice. Their were complications which I won't go into detail about here. His first day in court did not go well and he was in his office late that night contemplating resigning from the position he had worked so hard to get. Olivia went to check in with him and he told her that he was feeling frustrated because the defendant was just sitting there in court like he didn't have a care in the world. My words. Olivia advised him to figure out how to pull him in. Again, my words. When the defendant took the stand the next day, let's just say, things were turned around. Because he didn't give up that victim got her justice.

Okay, I have to admit! I am crying while writing this because it was yet another very emotional story. I am very invested in the stories they tell on that show. Some people get invested in sports. Me, not so much. The stories they tell on Law and Order SVU among others are where I invest my emotions.

You're working hard on building your business and brand! Don't give up because it is getting difficult and frustrating. Remind yourself why you are doing it.

That is all for today! Enjoy your Sunday and playoff games if you're watching them. See you here again tomorrow!
