Social media is a form of media that people use to interact or show off their friends, family, and anybody really what they are doing in their lives or the other way around like what other people are doing in their lives.

The Following are the top social media websites that people use almost every day in their lives in fact they are literally addicted to them:

• Facebook
• Instagram
• Twitter
• Tiktok

Many believe that with the rise of Web 3.0, many of the above-shown Web 2.0 social media websites will be eventually converted to Web 3.0 hence giving them the capability to be a part of the fediverse. In the fediverse system, we have already seen that if you post on one website the post will be shown on all other websites because Web 3.0 connects all these social media websites into a sort of centralized hub which we can already see in the hive.blog universe meaning if you post on hive.blog you will find that post on the following websites:

• peakd
• ecency
• delog
• liketu
• actifit

We will be discussing 5 main reasons why Social Media is a cancer to our society and should be regulated personally in order to save oneself from its many harmful effects:

The Power Of The Social Media Influencer

Social Media is not just a tool to interact with an audience no no many young aspiring people hope to use social media to their advantage if by chance they can go viral and build a following so they can achieve the goal of becoming an influencer. This is my first biggest reason why Social media is such a problematic world as all the issues are raised from this thirst to becoming an influencer in the first place. When you become an influencer on social media you are opening doors to opportunities like brand endorsements and even you will be paid for doing shoutouts to other content creators which is a plus sign However becoming an influencer means you are getting more powerful than a celebrity or even a politician.

Back in the day if you were a Hollywood celebrity or a huge politician people would really respect you for that however these days since the rise of social media all of these so-called credible personalities are available for interaction easily. Celebrities and huge popular figures have the ability to interact with their audience which was very limited over two decades ago which makes these social media influencers so powerful even more powerful than most credible personalities.

As there is an old saying with great power comes great responsibility well most social media influencers do not agree with this at all and they do whatever they want to gain attention so that they can go viral. The worst case scenario would be in the future when Fediverse goes into effect as Instagram integrated and competitors to threads launched and guess what threads will be directly integrated with Mastodon in the future as it is part of the Fediverse.

If this happens the power of these social media influencers would be more than government officials and they will be the ones calling the shots and that is what I fear the most as already they are the ones controlling the narrative of these greedy corporations who want to sell us their goods and services through them.

Young Women Are Encouraged In Immoral Activities

Social Media websites like Instagram always encourage young women to do immoral activities like bikini shoots and videos so they can dominate the algorithm however in the last decade we saw companies like Only Fans taking full advantage of this and luring these women into their websites so they can sell their nude images and videos to their fans.

A young woman should always look to either be a mom in the future because that is a highly respectable institution in itself or maybe for a legitimate career where are skills are appreciated. Selling their naked images and videos to millions of men all over the world might get them lots of money in the short run however we all age some day and this money might not be consistently rolling in forever.

The worst news of them all for these young women who indulge in such activities is that in the present and coming future AI-generated models will take the place of such models on Instagram and maybe on websites like onlyfans as well so they will not have any place to make money from their online activities.

The Addiction Associated With Social Media

You get a like for your post, you get a subscriber or a follower or you get a shoutout your brain gets a signal in the form of dopamine. Social media is so addictive that most people in the world spend over 4 hours a day trying to interact with various social media websites. This is unhealthy and guess what the elite know about this That is why I won't be naming these billionaires but most of them take away gadgets like cell phones, laptops, and tablets away from their children so they can live without these machines and in a world filled with nature in fact so their mental health can be of optimum levels so they can perform their important duties to perfection in the future.

Social Media Direct Link To ADHD Problem

ADHD known as Attention deficit disorder is rising in young people meaning people at a young age cannot have the ability to focus for long periods of time. Researchers blame low attention span content from social media for the rise of ADHD in young people. TikTok has risen in popularity with short-form videos and you can see content creators indulging in creating such videos forget the ability to create long-form content only those who stay away from this have the ability to create long engaging videos somehow.

Jealousy And Privacy Issues Related To Social Media

You go to a restaurant yet you do not eat anything there You take a selfie of yourself standing next to the branding of that eating place and then you go on to share this selfie with your audience on social media saying you enjoyed the meal a lie so what happens is that there is a fake world which you must create and are consuming all the time spent on social media. What happens is that jealousy increases among friends and family members resulting in a fake and materialistic competition to show off any incident which might show oneself as being happy somehow.

Sadly this does not end there You can easily get doxxed meaning your address where you live can be found out even if you never shared it online via your IP address or your traces which you left on the internet. Also, you cannot forget the fact of hacking incidents cause in the past 3 months 3 the following accounts have been hijacked of mine:

• Twitter
• Reddit
• hive.blog

Only my Reddit account got salvaged and I had to apply Google Authentator to it but my other two accounts Twitter and hive.blog are gone forever now.

Conclusion

Time during youth days is the most important duration in one's lifetime. If used properly one can achieve their goals in life however if you waste it on tools like Social Media especially then you will never achieve your goals and remember that the people earning money from Social Media are also 1 to 2 percent of the population and these people never get a chance to learn new skills in their lives in fact due to unhealthy practices the money that they did make they lose it on materialistic desires.

Social Media is a modern form of slavery really and it would be best that people reading this realize this fact of life before it's too late.
