If you have a published eBook on Amazon Kindle and are not getting any sales then the best route for you is not to spend money on advertising via platforms like Instagram and Facebook rather than doing that just simply convert your existing Amazon kdp eBook into an audiobook and upload it on Amazons Audible.

My eBook on Amazon kdp got 100+ downloads but only 1 sale up till now the 100+ downloads was when I put the price to 0 dollars and marketed it on a free eBook subreddit which got viral over there.

Things You Need To Consider Before Recording Your Audiobook Via Audacity

  • Make sure you have a published eBook on Amazon Kdp because this is a requirement for posting audiobooks on Audible.
  • Do not turn any fan on before recording your Audiobook and make sure you are seated in a quiet room as well.
  • Make sure you have a pop filter for your microphone. If you do not have one of these then you must use either towels or a thick woolen sock to cover your microphone.

Your Audacity Audio Setup Guide

  • Set the project sample rate and default sample rate to 48,000 Hz.
  • Set your playback device as real tech or whichever your Windows/mac uses.
  • Set your recording device as your microphone.
  • Set your recording channel as mono.
  • Set your host as Windows WASAPI.

The reason why I added this section here is so that people can wake up to the fact that even a cheap microphone can work for you if you follow the steps correctly. The microphone that I used was the Logitech USB Vantage Microphone which I bought 2nd hand for under 10 dollars however a brand new one can cost you around 23 to 25 dollars.
