Electricity: Is it reliable in your area?

Hello my frugal family, here we are again. This week @tergan give us the topic to discuss about electricity in our various places and like he said our house is not the same without electricity because we need it for a lot of things we do.

Here in my area, the electricity reliability is zero, they hardly give us light and there is no genuine reason for it. The annoying part is that our neighboring community are using light for more than 20 hours in a day, some are using it for 12-15 hours but ours is not like that, we might stay a week without having light.

They will not give us light and they will always bring electricity bill every month, unfailingly by the 15th of every month they will distribute the bill. There are some houses who are using prepaid meter and some are using postpaid meter and also there are some houses who doesn't have any meter.

For those that are using prepaid meter, they will have to recharge their meter before they can have access to the electricity and for some area that their light is reliable, they can use up to #10,000 prepaid card or more before the month end and that is based on how much they are using light consumption gadget and those that are using postpaid meter will pay according to what their meter read at the end of the month and for those that doesn't have meter, they will have to pay whatever bill that was given to them because there is no way of reading what amount of light they have consumed and they end up pay more than what they use.

I'm my house, we are using prepaid meter and we are using it with the landlord, we use to pay #1,000 every month and the landlord will add their own to it but since we don't have stable light we hardly finish up the one we recharge before the end of the month and that is because we doesn't have much electrical gadget, we only use fan, the bulb, TV and our charger. We use freezer but we don't on it all the time and I do my washing by hand.

In my shop, we are using the light with the main building and they don't have meter, they use to bring high bill because I always pay up to #1,000 per month for using just freezer and 2 bulbs and also the light is not reliable, they always give us 4-5 hours per day which make it more annoying. How will I be paying for the light I did not use.

It's been over 2 weeks now that we last have light and they will still bring the bill at the end of the month which I don't think I will be paying because I can't be paying for the light I didn't use.
